Serene Course 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 12, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

- out in the boondocks
- wildlife
- map available in mailbox
- elevation change
- some holes make you think
- disc placement is important
- iOS app just for this course with compass to guide you and scorekeeping

Cons:

- baskets; spit out pretty easy
- Tall grasses are nice but it's good to have at least one person with you to find discs
- it it's not mowed it can be a pain to lay
- tee markers
- iOS app doesn't remember your scores

Other Thoughts:

It's quite different form the courses I usually play and I enjoyed that. I was glad the wind was blowing very hard because that would make a real difference. If you're looking for something different it is worth the trip but I wouldn't consider it a destination.

Country discing 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 13, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

This course has a good mix of short, moderate, and longer holes.
It uses the present elevation pretty well providing both uphill and downhill shots.
There are a couple of holes with protected baskets to keep you on your toes.
It uses tall prairie grass for rough for that extra challenge.
It will make you work on your shot placements to avoid the above mentioned prairie grass.
There was a dog leg Right shot.
Hole observations:
1-uphill and open.
2-straight with the basket placed under a tree, the right side is open for RHBH hyzers.
3-open with the exception of the 2 cedar trees upon approach.
4-similar to 3 but has a few more cedars in play.
5-dog leg right hole that plays slightly downhill. There is a big cedar tree row on the right hand side of this hole.
6-straight and open with the tall grass rough on both sides of the fairway.
7-downhill shot that is open with the basket down next to a tree. You can air one out here.
8-uphill shot with the basket positioned next to a tree. Has tall grass rough on the right side mid fairway for extra challenge.
9-downhill and there are a couple of trees to navigate around upon approach.

Cons:

The baskets are homemade and putts will have a 50/50 chance of sticking even if you hit the chains dead center.
Many tee markers are missing. Those that are still there are marked by yellow flags, no distances so take a scorecard with the map on it.
Some holes play down the gravel road and players that like baseline plastic might encounter gouging of their discs.
Wind will play a factor as there really aren't that many trees to protect your throws.
This course needs a lot of mowing. The weeds and cheat are very thick on holes 1, 6, 7, and 8. Disc loss is very possible and you will spend some time looking for your disc in the cheat and weeds.

Other Thoughts:

To the right of the restroom by the playground there is a white mailbox that has scorecards that have a map on them. This comes in handy especially on the holes where the yellow tee marking flags are missing. It also has the hole lengths to give you an idea of what disc to throw.
This course would get bumped up for me a half a disc with the following improvements: tee markers(even a post with the number and distance would be fine) actual baskets, and of course a spraying and mowing. I don't mind the tall grass rough and have played several courses that use that to define the fairway but when it has weeds that are chest high and cheat that gets in your socks that you have to stop every 5 steps and pick out it gets tiresome after a while.
Many of the holes here are bland but they used what was available as best as could be I suppose.
This isn't a destination course by any means but if you want to see some scenic back country and play some country style golf then this course will do the trick.
