Fun course with some hazards drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 25, 2022 Played the course:once

Pros:

Small fun course that hugs both sides of a narrow private community park. Mainly RH forehand (LH backhand) tee shots with little to no obstacles or pedestrian traffic to be concerned with. It's a pretty course that's lined with mature trees and an overabundance of evil blackberry bushes.
Nice baskets and well manicured fairways.

Cons:

Difficult to find the unimproved tee boxes.
Tee box signs are in the ground flush with the grass.

Other Thoughts:

Wayward shots into the blackberries are sure to be a lost disc and possibly some cut skin if you dive too deep into the bushes to TRY to find your disc. I gave it a try and came out bleeding from the sharp needles and I was viciously attacked by an agro hive of wasps that won the battle for my Innova Mamba. My wife didn't think I could dance until I came out screaming covered in wasps. Aside from my plight, it is a fun course and not too technical. It's not a must do destination, but I would play it again with an emphasis on teeing off more toward the center of the course and then sneaking back toward the baskets from there.

Timberlakes Is Private, I Think! 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 27, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

Timberlakes is a nine hole course set in a small strip at Springer Lake Park. The course is long, narrow and flat with lots of benches, a basketball court, horseshoe pits, playground areas and some picnic tables. It's ringed with trees and brush so the rough is present on every hole. The course starts at the east end near the boat launch and circles around the park with holes 1-5 playing to the west end before holes 6-9 play back to the start. There are course signs and maps at both ends of the park as well as sani-cans and signs telling you that this course is for for Timberlake residents only.

The baskets are a basic version of unknown origin. The tee pads are natural and marked with a board. I found the first three easily identifiable and rest AWOL. The course plays in a counterclockwise direction with each basket set either on the edge of the park or just barely in the woods. So most holes have the same feeling with an anhyser throws needed. A good forehand would be golden here. The three tee-boards that I found were 300', 290' and 280'. Other holes seemed to be of the same general length.

Cons:

Private? Semi-private? Signs but they don't care? I don't really know for sure.

Tee pads aren't easy to find.

Repetitious feel to the holes.

There might be a small ditch or stream during the wet seasons.

Other Thoughts:

Tough to navigate and hard to find tee-boards combined with very repetitious holes don't add up to a winning combination but if I were a snobby member here at Timberlakes, I'd be playing this course.

UPDATE: This course is now listed as Springer Park. That is what the course sign says.
