The entire course basically just plays around a big field. Basically just a warm up for the back 9.

These courses sit in the middle of a garage-forward subdivision that can be challenging to get from one area to another. If you are patient, and find a friendly local, they can show you how to move from north to south.

It may not be a stellar park, and it has no real wilderness qualities in the north section, but this is where disc golf needs to be present if we want to integrate the sport into more municipal parks and recreation planning. Kids will learn to play and love the sport.

not very challenging if your looking for a challenge. You can use your putter on the hole thing. No mature trees or shade. It was very windy when I was there, not sure if that is normal.

Welcome to the Denver metro area's newest disc golf course! Nine completely new disc golf holes are laid out across approximately one acre of open, grassy park near 136th & Holly. This very short course was designed with beginners, youth, and families in mind and succeeds admirably in catering to that audience. Intermediate and expert players can enjoy the abundance of mid-range shots, putts and ace opportunities. The layout is very simple, with hole 1 starting in front of the parking lot and zig-zagging across the lush, manicured grass. Signage is excellent, with printed diagrams and distances at each tee pad. The course location is conveniently placed in an area on the map that was previously devoid of any DG action. I actually did enjoy seeing a couple groups of young teenagers out there picking up on the sport.

Some of the holes play uncomfortably close to adjacent fairways and baskets, making it very important to keep courtesy and safety in mind, especially since many younger and inexperienced players are out and about. On a sunny evening between 5 and 8 pm, the small course and park can get quite busy, so solo golfers may have to exercise patience if playing behind a group of 3-4 newbies. The Springvale South course (the back 9) could be played in conjunction with this course to make a full round of 18, but it is over half a mile away and, oddly enough, you have to walk past hole #12 on your way to #10 when approaching from the northern park.

It is great to see new disc golf courses pop up on the Denver map, and Springvale North is a welcome addition. Larger courses that boast technical features, complicated layouts and hefty throwing distances (for example, Camenisch Park - Badlands) are intimidating to new players, so this course definitely has its purpose and is sure to generate more popularity for the sport. It's a great course to bring a couple buddies who are at different levels of play for a low-key round!

This is a great beginning course, but not limited to children or beginners. It will give you a chance to work on your throws without worry of loosing a disc.
