St. Urho's is the worst disc golf course I have played out of the nearly two hundred I have currently played. To call it a disc golf course might be a little much. It has "nine holes" but the vast majority of these holes play through a junkyard forest that is filled with large rusted objects ranging from school buses, to abandoned mobile homes, to saw blades. I would like to say there are some positives to the course but I am struggling to come up with any. Maybe the fact that the grass was not unreasonably long would count as a positive. That is not to say that the grass was freshly mowed because it was not. The grass length was the best feature of the course.

The cons are many and vast. Usually I do not think pay to play is a negative but in this case it was. The course was really just random flight lines through trees and around pieces of junk to targets that changed every hole and ranged from a bathtub, to a dartboard, to wind chimes and only the large metal basket was even a halfway decent target to throw at. Before starting out on the course one of the owners stated that the starburst object on hole 7 was a little sharp and you might not want to hit it with your disc because it could do some real damage to it.

Shot shaping was not required because a typical flight line for the course was to have lots of trees with low hanging branches in about a ten foot wide fairway that would run for 30 to 50 feet and then make a sharp turn and change directions for another 30 to 50 feet followed by another sharp turn. The sharp turns were usually 90-degree angles. This lead to a lot of throwing and hoping for the best.

The underbrush a foot off the fairway was not maintained at all and if you were a little off the fair way, which was usually the case because of the unrealistic flight lines you would be looking for your disc for quite a while. Not only was the plant growth just off the fairway ridiculous the rusted metal objects littered throughout the fairways, and rough add even more danger to the course and you never knew what could be lurking beneath any of the rough.

I can think of absolutely no reason to play this course. Even if you are in the area and are a course bagger, I would not recommend that you stop and play. As I stated early this was the worse course I have ever played and any course that has rusted metal objects everywhere with no rough control should be avoided.
