Cons:
Some of the tee pads consist of metal frames with compressed gravel fill. The pads are too small, and with some of the gravel wearing out, you have a metal rim sticking out that you can easily stumble upon. The whole thing just felt weird, so we opted to tee from "rain tees" next to it. Luckily, it's only on a few holes.
Other than that, there's not much to complain about (besides that it's too short). Some of the holes would be tough to play by yourself as you can't see the basket from the tee & if you catch an early tree or overshoot into the woods you will spend some time looking for your discs in underbrush without a spotter.
Be careful especially on #4 with wide hyzers over the levee as this is covered with 5 feet high thistles that eat up your discs for good.
As this is a wooded course and you will spend some time in shrubs and undergrowth, be sure to check for ticks afterwards (at least in late spring and summer).
Other Thoughts:
Syltkuhlen / Norderstedt is a highly entertaining, quick-playing technical course that greatly compliments the mainly open, longer course of nearby City Nord. Here, you really have to work on your short game and approaches, discover new routes and shape your shots well. The pretty in-forest scenery just adds to that and we fell in love instantly.
Just as a suggestion to those that miss the long drives: you could make an alternative tee on the levee next to #4 and shoot for #5 basket (should be well over 200m so probably par 4 or 5). Otherwise, just alternate playing Syltkuhlen with City Nord or Volkspark.
