Tokyo DG Putt-Putt Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 18, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

Well maintained park, nearby train station (Tatsumi Station), free, nearby restrooms/picnic area, disc rental center, easy ace runs.

Cons:

small beginner course, crowded on weekends/holidays, overlapping holes, little to no obstacles

Other Thoughts:

This is a small putt putt course that you can bring beginners to for a short round, average of 30 meter holes. Course is well maintained and flat with little to no obstacles but course layout overlaps basket and tees. Be careful for pedestrians, easy to overthrow for advanced players. Park can be crowded on weekends/ holidays, nearby neighborhood. Access to bay is nearby so may be windy at times.

Very simple course 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Feb 8, 2015 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

-The course has easy access from the Yurakucho Line (subway)
-Free to play
-Easy to follow course
-Matted teepads
-Tee signs with distance in meters
-Well maintained landscaping
-Heavy duty baskets
-Public Restrooms

Cons:

-Located in a high traffic park
-Pay parking
-Short pitch and putt 9 hole course
-Overlapping fairways
-Teepads too close to other baskets.
-No ceiling to help shape fairways
-Resting benches on the course are in the line of fire.

Other Thoughts:

This course is located in the heart of downtown Tokyo. It's probably the most simple course I've played yet in the greater Tokyo area. The biggest thing I disliked about course was how small of an area the course is crammed in. I was almost hit many times because my next teepad was literally 15 feet behind or next to the previous basket. Course designs like this piss me off because I feel like I'm always in some idiot's crosshairs.

They conduct a local league event twice a month, the fourth Sunday @ 10 AM and the third Saturday @ 9 AM. I hear the course is much more fun when they use alt tees for league.

Directions from the subway:
From Tatsumi Station take exit #2, walk across the pedestrian sky bridge, hug the road you just crossed and walk north. After walking around 100 - 200 meters north on the sidewalk you'll see the park on the right.

Worth a trip if your in town 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Nov 4, 2014 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

nice park, other things to do besides golf

Cons:

super short...

Other Thoughts:

This is a nice course to play if your in Tokyo and have time to take a trip out. I didn't bring any discs to Japan (so i would have an excuse to pick up some). I went to D. D. Jam which was the only place I could find that sold discs in Tokyo. It was a tiny shop but they had a very good selection and of course, this being Japan the guy working there was super friendly, helpful and gave us a few minis. I asked him where to play and he said this place or one other that was much farther away. He said the holes were short and you could play from the first tee to the second basket to make it more of a challenge. We got there and a few other people playing, the youngest probably about 65! We played a few times around and it was fun enough. The holes are short but some were placed behind trees or bushes. The 9th hole was a mini beast at about 35 meters, but totally thru small trees. You could ace it but you would have to huk it low, wide right and get a fade and a side skip up into the basket. It was worth the trip. Also, once we were done there was lots of other things to do there including the hardest miniature golf course I ever played, and a few different versions of golf- field golf and something Called gate ball with a bigger ball using a mallet that looked like a croquet mallet with flat sides. There was also shuffle board, boccie, paddle tennis and some other things. I think there was a cost but they let us play free.

Great Fun in Tokyo ! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 3, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

Really fun course that is pretty easy to get to from Shibuya , where we were staying. Course is very short, but great fun. You can play to different baskets to make it longer if you want, we just played it twice.

Cons:

Course is short.

Other Thoughts:

I played with 4 friends that I frequently play with all over the United States and it was just a really fun course to play, pretty easy, but had it's on challenges with trees as obstacles, etc. We referred to it as DG Pitch and Putt Course ! Check it out !
