Pros:
Some trees in play with some shot shaping required
Tee signs with distances
Mowed course area
Three raised baskets
One turf tee as of this writing, looks like there are plans to have turf on all tees
Most holes in 200' to 300' range
Good course to play safari with enough trees and room to design challenging holes
Soak in the hot spring if you over do it on the course
Cons:
Discatcher Sport baskets
Mostly open on the first 5 holes
Mostly flat
Dirt tees on 8 holes when played
Tee signs are a little close to tee areas being used for the dirt tees
Course plays away from parking lot leaving a walk back after the last hole
Other Thoughts:
Using the sloped area on the north side of the corral for a pin placement and elevated tee shot might be possible
What would really be cool would be some strategically placed life-sized bison cutouts or sculptures to add some obstacles and character to the course (The course is in the old bison corral for the State Park herd)
Thermopolis is a great place to visit if you are in the area, the mineral hot spring is awesome, there is great fishing, an excellent Dinosaur Museum, and now a DG course to play
I usually spend a night in Thermopolis each year on vacation and I'm looking forward to seeing this course develop
Update: The course now has turf tees on all holes. The tee for #7 has been moved since the original review and both 7 and 8 play better.
