Pros:
- Trine U's got a disc golf course! Well, kinda. Don't get your hopes up for some ivory tower enlightened design. Basically, some baskets are placed around the soccer and other athletic fields. Park near the large field house with the giant Trine logo. Hole #1's tee is a drain cover near a sidewalk, unmarked. Hmm. No sign to start is never a good...sign. Hole #'s 1 and 4 don't have signage, and tees are just the grass, not even really worn out spots. Where the signs are extant, they are small white metal plaques flat on the grass. Not particularly easy to find, but once on track the course is easy to follow. A narrow strip of land between a ball golf course and the fields is basically the only flow possible.
- Elevation isn't wowzer, but provides a few wrinkles. Hole #'s 3, 7-9 do a good job teasing out a small seam of elevation.
Cons:
- This course isn't well marked. The signage leaves a lot to be desired.
- This course obviously plays second fiddle to the other amenities. If soccer or other field sports are happening (they were just beginning during my early morning round), this course is probably not playable.
- Hole #9 dumps you unceremoniously at the far end of the property, with a long sad walk back to the car.
Other Thoughts:
- Not the worse thing ever. The elevation helps a little, but overall, not much going on here to recommend. Just baskets in a counterclockwise circle in a grassy field with a seam of elevation at the edge.
