A Tale of Two Courses

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 24, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

Most of the front 9 seem to be the majority of what was their original 9. These holes are the absolute best of this course. There are some nice designs here. The first hole plays BH hyzer into a pretty little wetland green. The 3rd hold may be the best on the course. It gives you two clear lane options. Both bring real risk or reward on them. For the majority of the front 9 they didn't always have a ton of "woods" to mess design with but they made creative shot choices with the obstacles that they had available.

There are tees on half the holes right now

The front of this course is in a beatiful wetland. The day we were there it was just full of singing birds, like Disney movie soundtrack stuff here.

Cons:

The back 9 felt like they were just happy to have 9 more. And YES, 9 more holes is cool no matter whether they match the first or not. But it loses the feel of the course. They are primarily 180 foot birdie runs in a field. No real obstacles and no real challenge.

The tees on the front are on the small side and they disappear on the back altogether. There is no signage here. Like they hung up sponsor signs on nice wooden posts and didn't even paint bad numbers on them.

Other Thoughts:

We came on a Monday afternoon. Nothing anywhere suggests that it isn't okay to be on this property on a school day, but it felt weird. There are street signs that I couldn't quite understand saying not to follow the Google maps directions in since you drive through school property. Absolutely not a course you're going to have a few beers.
