Give it a few years 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 1, 2020 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Navigation 10/10. The tee signs provide good information and there are only a couple of blind shots. Tee signs have arrows pointing to next tee. A couple of longer walks where you have to backtrack.

Baskets/Tees 8/10. Tees are concrete, they are adequate for most holes but a couple longer holes could use bigger ones. Baskets are Mach 2's in decent shape.

Course Maintenance 9/10. Well mowed and baskets/signage in good condition. A couple of the "bridges" to cross the ditch (which is usually swampy) are in bad shape.

Use of obstacles 8/10. The designer did a really good job of using the obstacles available. Some of the small newly planted trees will become a factor in the next 10 years and improve the course.

Variety of Distances 7/10. This course has a decent variety of short and long shots, depending on placements. There are quite a few holes right around 300', with 8 and 10 over 400' when set long. Could use one or two true bomber holes.

Disc Finding 6/10. About half of the holes are open with no chance of losing a disc. There are several on the back 9 with a swampy pond that comes into play, as well as a creek to the left of Hole 5.

Cons:

Elevation 1/10. Almost completely flat, some very small ridges that don't really affect shots at all.

Decisionmaking required 2/10. Not many holes that make you think about what shot to play. There is a little risk/reward that comes into play with the pond on the back 9.

Variety of shot paths 2/10. Hole 16 requires a left to right shot, Holes 6 and 11 require a right to left. 7 is an interesting S when in the long position. The other 14 holes you can pretty much throw whatever you want.

Variety of openness 3/10. Almost all of the holes are pretty open. Hole 5 is an exception, with a technical shot through the woods. A couple of other holes are more "moderately wooded"

Reasonably challenging all levels 3/10. This is a good course for beginners, but intermediate players and above won't find much of a challenge here.

Alternate Pin Positions 3/10. There are two placements on each hole, some of them are pretty good but several just add a little more distance or have you throw a slightly different direction across an open field.

Comfort 3/10. No running water or restrooms on site, no benches and not a lot of shade. Several holes close together where you need to be careful of other players. Well mowed without much rough unless you throw in the marsh.

Other Thoughts:

Overall Challenge 3/10.
More Precise Rating 2.19

This is a course that's good to have in the area. It's more beginner friendly than most, but isn't COMPLETELY devoid of obstacles like Eastminster. There are a good number of small trees in the middle of the open areas that are currently too short to affect shots unless you land right behind them, but in several years they will help this course tremendously.

I currently have this course on the border between a 2.0 and a 2.5, which considering the land they had to work with is really good. A few benches here and there, some other amenities like a water fountain, improving the bridges across the ditch could bump my rating to a 2.5, but there isn't much that can improve this course further besides time.

Fun Course to Let Loose 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 29, 2020 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Mostly open field but uses trees to affect the course wherever possible. I like to use this course to improve my range as I feel there are less consequences if a shot is not great. Few holes dip into a wooded area to add variety.

Cons:

- Wind in the wide openness makes this course difficult . Distances are playable even in a headwind but it's a struggle. Many trees are young in this newer park that should help in the future.
- Marshy/Wet areas have become more of a factor than the first year I played here. But it does get plenty of sun to dry off majority of areas.
- Course Layout is a little difficult to follow even with a map. I always seem to miss a hole somewhere. Course signs will help someday.

Other Thoughts:

I've enjoyed using this course to introduce some people to the sport but also still find it a challenge that keeps me coming back.

Good course for playing every day 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Apr 16, 2019 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

This is a fun little course with some neat holes. It is open enough that if you can only throw backhand or forehand you will probably have enough space to make it work, but the person that can throw both will have the opportunity to do it here. A couple of wooded tunnel shots, a couple of very long holes, and a couple spots that they tucked the baskets in some cool locations. If all the baskets are short...ace runs and birdies abound. If the baskets are long, you might start looking at par as a good score, especially when the wind is up. Several holes where even the biggest arms are going to give it all they have. The small pond only comes into play on one or maybe two holes, but the large area of casual water actually adds a very tough dynamic to several holes. Only problem is that it isn't there all the time. They have planted a lot of new trees in some very tactical locations, so this course will grow in difficulty over time. Concrete tee pads and tee signs with distances have been installed!

Cons:

Baskets are old, although they seem to catch just fine. Parking is very limited. The course is in a wetlands area that gets very squishy. Not a very technical course.

Other Thoughts:

This is a very fun course to have as a daily play. It will force you to work shots left and right, challenge your distance, and in some spots your control. It might not be ready for tournaments until the tees pads and signs go in and the trees grow up, but it is a pretty solid 'home course'.

Great new disc golf course! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 17, 2018 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

New course to the area. Multiple hole placements (long/short). Single natural tees. Has a good combination of wooded holes and more open field holes. Good use of what trees and bushes were present in the park. Newly planted trees will provide for a more difficult course later on in its life.

Cons:

The park that this course is located in still has a ton of straw on the ground. Makes it for questionable footing. Natural tee pads for now. No hole signs are up as of now. This can lead to some confusion for beginners.

Other Thoughts:

This is a new course to the area. It is still young. They have put in some great work on the course and I enjoyed playing it. Will like to see how this course will change when trees start to grow. Would like to see cement tee pads put in and for signs to be finished off.
