Pros:
--Prodigy baskets.
--Playground equipment if you're multitasking with the littles.
Cons:
--Almost every tee shot the same
--Gravel tees
--No parking lot
--Course split 6 holes east of access road (also Windrose), 3 holes west. If you're there with young kids, it could be an issue.
Other Thoughts:
This is a tidy little course which is simultaneously tucked away in a quiet neighborhood and very accessible to Interstate 35.
It's a good course for beginners, or teaching beginners. One of the reasons that this is the case is that they can potentially throw the same tee shot on the first 8 holes, each of which is between 130 and 175 feet long with hazard (tall grass, mostly) on the right. I played all of them RHFH, but if you're willing to skirt or throw over the hazard on the right, you could just as easily bend it the other way.
The 6th hole adds a 20-25 foot climb to the basket. You cross Windrose Curve (the access road) to play the last three holes. Number 8 is the shortest hole on the course at 133 feet, but tucks the basket blindly behind some vegetation on the right side.
Finally, there is #9, if you've been Jonesing for a RHBH or LHFH shot the entire round (which by now has taken you all of about 20 minutes). It's a water cross with tall grass and wetland also behind the basket. Only 138 long, and with about 30 feet of depth to your landing area, if you talked your shot into fading at all after the water carry, you're going to be fine. Thought I aced it but it snuck past the cage on the far side for a 12 foot birdie.
This was stop number one for me on a four course late November bagging day--almost certainly the last day with temps in the 40's for 2023. Personally, I found it to be an excellent place to get warmed up and throw right at the baskets. It was also the first course I scored under par, so that was fun.
There's nothing wrong with this course if you just want a quick and easy round.
