[Prodigy] Prodigy G-Series Plastic

let me guess the G stands for Grip.. ? I feel like the current 400 plastic is already quite grippy.. I wonder whats supposed to be different.

Im still wondering what the 750 plastic will be like..

One of my buddies is sponsored by zeteter disc golf here in Canada. Play around with him on Saturday and he had the m4 in the new and old plastic only difference I felt was that the new stuff is a little bit softer. Not quite as stiff as the original lol other then that same disc. IMO

I think the G stands for glass. I heard that glass is melted into the plastic blend making it more swirly and marbled looking

400 series is already too gummy IMO, but I assume that is key to improving it's grip. I would rather have slick stiff Z plastic personally.

Ive held plenty g400 and 400s m4s, g is a bit stiffer and opaque.
Glass thing sounds like bs but idk

Glass melts at a much higher temperature (1500-3500 degrees depending on the glass type) then plastic I find it incredible hard to believe they would invest the money in a furnace capable of melting glass to just add it to discs.

The density difference alone would make the discs blended in a non-uniform manner.

i work in the glass industry and i find it incredible silly. plastic melts at around 200 degrees i would guess and glass melts at around 1500-3500. Pouring molted glass into molten plastic would just either burn the plastic or cause it to combust.

I'm holding out for the stiffer DX/Pro/D type plastic. It's too much of a difference from KC Roc's to 400 series.

I heard months ago that the G does stand for glass, but I was told it was just glass micro beads, not molten glass. If you hold up a G-series disc up to the light you can see the very fine texture in the plastic.

ok that makes more sense. someone said they melted it into the glass.

then you would like G series......Ive held both and though the difference isn't a lot the G series is more slick then the regular 400....I prefer the regular 400

As for the glass thing to make the discs swirly, I don't know but if thats in fact what they are doing them why make all the G discs opaque? Makes it pretty hard to see any swirls......
