Cool story. My dad went to Northwestern when Gillson was in the ground and has very fond memories of it. I notice in the linked post you said it's hard to imagine an 18 being there. Part of that is because the discs (they weren't golf discs to my knowledge) couldn't go very far back then so a...
Exciting news! I've long hoped they would get involved with disc golf. They have the best land and the resources to make high quality courses. Cook County certainly needs some quality courses.
I have fond memories of playing at Albert Oakland from my time at Mizzou. Reading the reviews about the lack of upkeep at that place kills me inside. I hope this works out. I know I'll be back at some point to check it out!
As someone somewhat new to the site I think the reviews are probably more relevant and useful to the people not writing reviews. I found the site when looking for info on area courses (for years I relied almost solely on the PDGA site) and ended up using it more and more.

Awful design
New baskets with nice big concrete tees is a great start for a new course, but it's downhill from there.
The first 5 holes range from decent to good with some obstacles and moderate challenge. The alley shot on 5 is really cool, but quite difficult and frustrating.
The course is...

Good length in a nice park
First off, the course is in a big park with lots of healthy, mature trees. It's one of the prettier public parks you'll see.
The course is well maintained with very good signs (You can get a little lost at a few places on the course. Between 4 and 5 and between 9 and...

Beginner course
Most of the tee shots force you to do something a little bit different and there is some distance to be had here. It's a good beginner course to practice your drives on.
There are a few semi-interesting lines thanks to trees in the way on a few holes.
Concrete tees are nice for...

A favorite
This course has some of the best variety of holes with a few special ones that are as good as you'll see anywhere.
Hole 2 could be my favorite hole ever. You tee from the edge of a cliff down through some trees to a hole that looks so small that it's unreachable, but I usually manage...

Good if local
As someone from the north suburbs of Chicago I was very excited to see this course pop up so close to home. Some of the other local 9s aren't all that thrilling and this one seems to have more effort behind it. Since it first opened they've included concrete tee pads (which have...

Confusing with potential
This is a pretty course with a few unique shots.
There are a few holes with elevation and a few more with decently challenging and fun angles for drives. A couple drives force you to shoot around a corner and a few others involve hills.
Some of the pin locations are...

Top Notch 9
Incredible slopes and creative tee shots.
Challenging finesse shots and some of the coolest holes I've played here.
Elevation on almost every tee and you'll rarely be able to throw the same shot twice on a round.
8 is a mess. Standing water right where most people will wind up. Be...

Best of the NW
Good variety of wooded and water holes and short and medium length.
Very good signs and directions make it easy to get around for the most part.
Some challenging tee shots and clever hole locations.
Pretty park and a new course.
If you're somewhat of a beginner water comes into...
