Whats in your bag......the 2011 edition!

FYI, I throw backhand, forehand 70/30. Putters 175 SS Wizards x2 (purdy purple) - all putts 175 DX Aviar P&A - beat for all sorts of upshots, turnover shots, and touch drives < 300'. 175 D Zone FR - beat - exclusively forehand upshots $$$ Mids 180 DX Roc x3 (sticky red) - Everything Drivers...

    Skyiron Flagship

I hate to be mean, but the disc looks sort of shoddy even in the website pictures. The profile of the orange one looks pretty nice actually (I'd toss one to try it out for sure), but the blue one looks like it sat on someone's dashboard with books on it all afternoon, and the red one has some...

    Skyiron Flagship

178g ! They're available in 178g. So it's a large diameter max distance disc. Unusual, no? I wasn't interested either until I noticed that. So, either it's Buzz diameter and they're playing it safe the way Discraft does, or it's a little smaller. Maybe a touch larger diameter than the...

Looking for an out of the box stable-understable driver

I can second that suggestion. Stephan Mueller 4498 of Switzerland plays a two driver bag: LF and JLS. He's sick with those two, 1000+ rated last time I checked. I can easily see the pairing with the PD working just as well. The JLS is good for understable duty over a wide range of distances...

Looking for an out of the box stable-understable driver

I've been using pro Leopards for exactly this purpose (complementing a bunch of PDs). They're really predictable and controllable for an understable disc. New they're good for a lot of medium-stable shots or longer hyzer-flips. Occasionally I wish they were a bit longer, but a worn P-PD plays...

    True Straight Distance Driver.

Keep in mind: often when you see pros throw ridiculously low straight long shots they're doing it mostly with speed. It's just that the disc is running into the ground before it gets to fade. I've seen plenty of shots like that with the Boss, Force, etc.... not straight discs. Of course if...

Overstable Midrange? Why is it not useful to you?

I've enjoyed throwing the zone and drone but using new rocs and powered down preds for many of these shots has repaid me in simplicity. I can only really get truly comfortable with a few discs at a time.

    The Gospel of the PD

I missed a previous discussion about this?

    The Gospel of the PD

Sneaking suspicion: the PD has a mild plus-configuration rim. Discuss.

    The Gospel of the PD

Any chance of getting P-PDs in a softer pro plastic? I'm a huge fan of the PD in all plastics. I'm also a huge fan of the Pro Leopard for all sorts of control/straight/turnover shots. All the pro leopards I've had are in a very similar plastic: flexible (but not floppy), great grip. They have a...

Extra Distance Potential in Pro vs. Premium Plastics?

Here's some speculation about the pro-glide correlation. When discs get beat up, three things happen #1 The disc (to a small extent) is no longer round/symmetric. This causes a huge loss of HSS and some loss of LSS. #2 The nose of the disc gets bent down. This reduces HSS a lot and LSS a...

Best Forehand Drivers for a Newb?

I've had great success with the Roc and PD forehand. Somehow I could never get the grip right on the TB. Despite trying for a long time I could never get rid of the occasional wobble-to-flat error. Hmm. Maybe if I tried again I'd be better at it.

    The Gospel of the PD

Drop off in distance? Shouldn't it go farther? My 167 S-PD is noticeably longer than my 175s. Undoubtedly the 150 is even longer.

    esp nuke 171 problems

I see where you're coming from. But, really I wasn't tying to be a jerk. if you just want t be a casual and throw as far as you can than why not Nuke it? If you're sick of that and want to improve then I don't see any shortcut to putting in a ton of time in the field with a stack of teebirds...
