"Disc Golf Not as Green as it seems"

There's no need for that. It's a special interest website just like all the others on the internet. The PDGA have better things to worry about, and the issue is better left to those with a working knowledge of the situation.

"Disc Golf Not as Green as it seems"

Well put, Peter. As much bile and miscommunication have been thrown around on both ends, the issue at hand is pretty basic: there are tradeoffs whenever previously undeveloped land is developed, and Ken doesn't want to make those tradeoffs. We can certainly debate how large the impacts are and...

"Disc Golf Not as Green as it seems"

Thanks for the answer. Your velocity argument applies to pros and intermediate players for sure, but you overestimate how common the human threat will be. Not only are recreational players by far the most common, those who have progressed to an intermediate level and beyond are both experienced...

"Disc Golf Not as Green as it seems"

I'm very glad you've taken the time to respond to us. I figured I'd give my own environmental science perspective on the matter. I completely understand your concerns of erosion. I've personally experienced it at a number of well-trodden courses, where by overplaying and demand from parents of...

3.00 star(s) One of my home courses; an assessment There's a lot of inherent beauty to the course; The final 5 holes in particular all play by the lake, often with gorgeous views of the campus. The design itself is solid: 1. A very narrow wooded hole. A few bends in the trail put a premium on driving; those...

Review by TheTennesseeFireman in course Idlewild

5.00 star(s) A deserving five star course. Where to begin? Let's start with the course itself. Amazing. Many top-rated courses are rated highly because they are in the middle of a well-funded park and are moderate in difficulty, therefore appealing to all. Idlewild is not one of these. You have to love the...

Average Courses that have a Must Play Hole

Pride Park in Northern KY is a bit overgrown and hard to play at times, but hole #3 involves maybe the only "graveyard shot" in existance.

2.50 star(s) Decent Course, Amazing Potential I don't often do this, but I'm gonna give the hole-by-hole: 1- Beautiful opener. Mostly straight, downhill shot with from the picnic shelter. 2- Fun, but relatively steep downhill shot, so be careful as running it past can be deadly. 3- The "Graveyard Hole"...

3.50 star(s) No-Nonsense Cincinnati Highlight Pro Shop- I got lost for a bit on the way in, assuming that the "lodge" was some random park building. I was sorely mistaken. Helpful staff and many shelves of discs, bags, etc are a sight to see for one who is used to the homegrown nature of disc golf...

3.00 star(s) Scenic Course, Room for Improvement Natural Beauty- This course plays around one of the prettiest lakes in the Greater Cincinnati area. Playability- On the day I went out, next to no one was in the park. Though there was still a bit of mud on the course, the rains were torrential the day before...

Review by TheTennesseeFireman in course Woodland Mound Park

3.00 star(s) My home course - Well-conditioned. All tees and baskets look new (though updated tee signs would be appreciated). Brush and weeds are never a problem. - Excellent beginner/intermediate course. Straight shots are nearly always rewarded, but creative shotmaking will also shave strokes off your...
