The obvious pro is that someone took the time and effort to install baskets for people to use and see. I applaud the person who took the time to set this up, but it is an incomplete thought.

Proximity to the high school.
1) Thousands of people pass by the baskets every day. Even if the course is abysmal, it is getting people to know what a disc golf basket is and opening up doors for people to talk about disc golf. I wish it was there back when I went to PCHS, yep old Prerube graduated from across the street , I would have practiced putting every day while waiting for my ride to pick me up from practice.
2) Everyone from the church knows what disc golf is now.
3) It provides a practice area with in walking distance of the school and vocational center.

The cons are obvious, first there are only 5 baskets and many of those baskets are very high and positioned on concrete. This can cause damage to discs, so you are not going to want to play there frequently or with decent discs.
There are no tee pads. a Tee is vital for disc golf. It can be a wooden stick in the ground with a 1 sharpied on it, but this course does not have that. It is a safari course at best. I would not call this a course. It is a practice area.
Some of the baskets play into the parking lot of close to the road. There is a semi-elevated basket right next to the road in the back of the parking lot.

A "course" that lacks tee pads fairways, and obstacles is not much of a course, but then you add the super high baskets, terrain that can damage your discs, baskets near roads, and possibility of cars on the course and you end up with a course that is well below the "Passable" mark. I am glad they took the time to embrace the sport. But to compare it to a legitimate course, the creators must be able to accept that they were never able to create a 3 star course with the space and resources they were given.

(0.212 Rating) This course is very limited and should only be sought out by course baggers and church goers.
- FORGIVENESS - The odds of losing a disc due to an errant shot is near impossible unless you leave one behind on accident.
- MAINTENANCE - The grounds appear to be constantly mowed, trimmed and manicured. I don't recall seeing any trash on my visit.
- CHAINS - They are in great condition.
- GROW THE SPORT - No doubt will these baskets introduce the game to new players.
- FINISH AT PARKING - "You can check-out any time you like, but you can never leave." (Eagles)

Oh where to begin...
- CHARACTER - There is none, just baskets in a parking lot.
- TEES AREA - There aren't any, so it's improvisation only. Note, the baskets are about 200 feet apart if you play basket to basket.
- UNDEFINED CHALLENGE - Without a layout to follow, rating the challenge of this course is impossible. Safari style is your only option, so make it as tough or easy as you please.
- # OF BASKETS - Only 5 baskets.
- RAW BEAUTY - Sure there are potted plants and flower gardens, but when I refer to raw beauty, I refer to things like tree vibrancy and diversity, natural earth features, water features and backdrop views. Murdock Baptist Church has none of these items and it plays in a parking lot. The course very much scores on the low end of my rating scale for beauty.
- WIND - Due to the lack of trees, wind will likely be an issue as well.

I figured I'd check out this course cause as I enjoy playing the full spectrum of courses. It's funny to note that the 3 DGCR members that have played this course, they have all played over 100 courses. In all however, its borderline whether this is a course or practice area. I'd consider bumping the course up to a 0.5 rating with a defined layout.

5 baskets in the ground. That's about it.

I would argue that we need more courses like this, for the children of course. #reallygrowthesport.

No marked tees. I'm sure that the children who play this course regularly have a layout. Baggers will have to play it safari style.

This is a private course designed for children, so it's open and easy. Can be bagged very quickly if passing through. I recently talked to the Pastor who has been playing disc golf for a long time himself and he said to go ahead and play it, but if he sees anyone throwing, he might join them! (my kind of church!)
