Pros:

The clubhouse staff was very friendly. There's some really good disc golf holes out here!! It's got a great mix of hole lengths and shots. The hazard bunkers and couple water holes add to the beauty and difficulty. This course will test players of all skill levels and has some very challenging par 3s playing the "gold" pars. The tee pads which are shared with the ball golfers are nice and big with great footing. There's some really fun holes and with time this place can be great. Hole 3 is an amazing downhill shot that is super fun, which hole 4 follows with an awesome back uphill over the water shot. Great elevation change for being on a ball golf course

Cons:

No maps or signs anywhere. The layout is still somewhat easy to follow since it follows the ball golf course... that being said every hole is shared with them, and being a 9 hole course it feels very crammed with the golfers playing as well. I found the golfers to be very friendly.... however one of the neighbors clearly dosen't want disc golfers there. She was screaming at are group saying we didn't belong there, and she would have us thrown off being a total Karen for no reason. The golfers were even defending us so hopefully it's just a Karen on a bad day, and dosent effect the long term of this course. There's still areas that need to be ironed out here as you can tell it's new. The pins are all mobile temp ones tied to something which can help you if you hit the bottom instead of flying by the pin but not a fan of the temp type feeing pins

Other Thoughts:

With more work and some slight adjustments I wouldn't mind playing here again. I fee the layout might need a little change to try to avoid the golf course a little more but a fun addition to the area and worth a play

Delphi Disc Golf = Horseshoe Lakes Disc Golf! 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 3, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

As usual, I was prepared to not like the Delphi course. I've played too many of these golf courses that are either poorly designed or just flat out money grabs. The Delphi Disc Golf is neither. The Delphi Golf Course is just a little community nine-hole course so sticking an 18-hole disc golf course on this property probably didn't allow for the usual 1100 ft. open holes that you often find on our courses that are on regular golf courses. The course terrain has some nice elevation and a couple of tricky water hazards, as well.

First the design. The course was designed by John Anderson, a long-time respected disc golfer in the Puget Sound area. His design is superb. It's a layout that I can enjoy as an older, recreational player but one that I think would prove challenging up to and including advanced players, in other words, that's about 90% of the disc golfing community. Second, the price is currently so reasonable at $10 for your first round and $5 for each additional round. I'm not sure about the cart prices but seeing how Delphi is just a 9-hole course, a cart just isn't needed for most players.

The course has only been open for about a week now so some things are being worked out. There aren't any signs yet but they do have maps available and the layout can be followed on Udisc, as well. I was lucky enough to hook up with locals Steve and Danny who were familiar with the course. The tee pads are probably the biggest concern. For now, they are natural and will quickly get muddy and unsafe. There are also, a couple of pads that are really rough at the present. The baskets are temps but that's not all bad for now, for some might be changed as the course grows.

Holes 12 & 13 have just been cut out the woods. They're pretty primitive right but will get cleaned up. Plus, they provide a nice change from the typical, more open golf course holes. I like the variety of distances with holes ranging from 245' # 9 to # 11's 515'. A pond can come into play on the left on # 5, a 460' slightly downhill hole. 6, I think, has a scary water crossing for a weiney armed player such as myself but an alternate "less scary" option is available.

Beware the gator in the pond at # 4.

Cons:

I truly am, a little pressed to come up any cons. I'm convinced that tee pads, signage and permanent baskets will be added as times goes on.

I wasn't entirely sold on # 8 basket position. I'm afraid that too many errant drives will find their way into that neighbor's yard and thus become a problem.

# 9 is a shorter hole 245' playing directly over the golf green. I worry that too many discs will land on and stick in that green in the wetter weather. But quite possibly, most players are better than me and won't have a problem here.

This course, more than most disc on ball courses depends on a cooperative relationship between us and those guys with sticks. I think it'll will work.

Other Thoughts:

I just recently played the second course at Horseshoe Lakes, the Canyon course and the comparisons between the two are inevitable. My thoughts are: I liked the Canyon Course there the best. Delphi and the Lakeside course are so close. With Delphi being such a better deal $ at this time, I'll use that as a tiebreaker and put Delphi two and the Lakeside course at a very close third. All three are excellent choices and Washington's disc golf scene continues to get better and better. I hope the locals continue to play this course and that the management is happy with the arrangement.
