Fun short course! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 31, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

Great DGA baskets with a sparkle blue paint job! The course is fairly short and easy to navigate. Great little beginner park for small town Kansas!

Cons:

Some of the "par" ratings are a little off (206' wide open Par4 and a 290' Par5). Also having to throw through/around playground equipment/picnic areas can be sketchy!

Pros:

Signs are up.. Got a tournament (I putting on private). Aug 22, 2015. Nice Smaller course. Trying to get it spread out and add the back 9. City pool, stuff for kids to do while u play. the parking lot starts at hole 9 and goes all the way to number 1.

Cons:

Its newer and needs more work. Last reviewer is right its a smaller tight course. but only heard of one person getting hit. and he was a kid with a group not paying attention... walked in front of a disc right as it left throwers hand...

Other Thoughts:

Trust me its not the worst or the best but I thrown it at -8 AVG and -11 on a awesome days. come check it out.. if u hit someone u need more practice.........

A little tight on space 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 1, 2014 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Nice new DGA baskets that are blue. This is a well maintained park that is well kept. There are other ameneites here like playground equipment, walking trails, etc.
The flow of the course is logical and rounds will play quickly. Risk of losing a disc is minimal here.
Hole observations:
1-Trees line the hole on the right side, low ceiling shot
2-open hole providing you with a chance to run the chains
3-basket is protected by the pine trees
4-plays through a picnic area...bit of a head scratcher here. I would say the better line would be the hyzer(RHBH) route out and around the trees and light pole
5-basket is 30 feet past an opening between a cedar tree and a building. You will have to be extremely accurate if you go this route. Again I would say a safer line would be the hyzer(RHBH) route around the cedar tree.
6-works a bit left to right and the basket is down by the white building.
7-short downhill shot, I teed off on top of the underground water tower. The cement makes for a nice tee pad
8-plays around the underground water tower with the basket dog legging slightly to the left
9-again I teed off on the cement underground water tower. This is the longest hole in the park with a tree to shape your shot. Be careful of the playground on the right hand side of the hole.

Cons:

Many holes throw over walking trails, next to playground equipment, light poles etc. You will need to be on your toes here and keep an eye on where your shots are heading so that you don't hit another park goer.
The tee marker on Hole 8 needs to be moved one way or the other. I can easily see someone hitting their hand on the pole itself or one of the trees depending on which side of the tee marker you tee off from.
The walk from 9's basket to the parking lot is rather lenghty.
Maybe a trash can or two on the course itself would help with the litter. I know there are a few on the walking trails but one at a tee or two might be beneficial.
If the park was busy with other activities playing a complete round SAFELY would be very difficult.

Other Thoughts:

Upon my visit the tee marker poles were in the ground but the signs were not attached to them. I don't know if plans are in the works to add the signs in the future, I hope so. Also I don't know if they intend on pouring tee pads or not. The idea was a good one to install a 9 hole course however the space is very limited here. Safety issues are present on many of the holes, like 4, 6, and 9. I like that more small towns are getting disc golf course as this helps to grow the sport, as there were a few players playing this course when I was playing.
This course just feels crowded in some spots and I really hope that players are paying attention before they throw. Not a destination course but if you are passing through and you want to play a round then here is another option for you.
