Pros:
1. Nice mix of open and wooded holes.
2. Concrete tee pads with metal benches and concise tee signs.
3. Great use of elevation. Course will challenge your stamina especially on the back 9.
4. Various par 3, 4, and 5 holes allow you to fully use fairway and distance drivers.

Cons:
Course is still relatively new and still being worn in. There are still a lot of roots and stumps that may cause tripping hazard if you don't watch your step.
Other Thoughts:
One of the more challenging and best laid out courses in the CSRA.

Pros:
1. This is a 20 hole course that is very well planned and the layout is great. Ten holes are dedicated to the U.S. Marines and 10 dedicated to the U.S. Navy.
2. There is a mixture of open and very wooded holes. Change of elevations holes are there also.
3. Nice Mach X baskets that match the each service. Red baskets for Marine holes and blue baskets for Navy holes.
4. Each starting point has concrete tee pads, benches, and there are trashcans on some holes. Benches and trash cans also match the color of the baskets.
5. Multiple pin placements and or tee boxes on 9 holes.
9. Great signs for both pin placements and where to find the next tee box. Tee box signs have both A and B pin placements and is very colorfully illustrated. They also have a little Marine or Navy history on them for your reading enjoyment. At the bottom, right of each sign will have a metal ring to let you know which pin in in play that day.

2. Since a lot of trees, bushes, and shrubs were removed to create some of the holes, there are many small stumps left so watch where you are walking or you will have sore toes.
3. Marine Hole 5a has a huge and deep creator you must throw over. The creator itself in not the issue. If you happen land at the bottom, there is no rope or stairs to help you in and out, which could be an issue for some folks.

This is a very long course, which is very comparable to Jackson and Langley Pond for those who play in the CSRA. Great course for not only pro but also for the casual player. This is a must to play is you come to this area.
