Thanks for the heads-up on the profanity in the video Marty. I can live without it too. They may have the right to use the f-word, but I don't have to listen to it.
Keep in mind, the 4-stroke penalty is not assessed until his name is called and 30 seconds has passed. We used the rulebook on ourselves to help delay the calling of his name. We were not under "his" rule because we were present, according to rule 804.02.
In a recent tournament, we didn't get a full hour either and one guy was running late for the second round. He was listed last on the lead card. In order to strictly abide by the rules and still give the late guy a chance to make it, I talked the others on my card into taking his full 30...
Have to disagree with you Dillon...a PLASTIC magnet would be the best disc getting invention ever. haha. Shamelss post on my part, working to become a Bogey member.
I would agree with you Dillon. It seems to me the disc would flip up a lot easier because of the angle of the lip. One that is upside down might try to "dig in" to the bottom of the lake. I've thought that because, on occasion, my rake seems to "jump" just enough to notice it in the line. I...
Hi SRM,
It's difficult to know the true success rate of "catches" vs. "misses", but overall the success is well worth the effort. In clear water tests, I've determined that the tines dig 1/2" deep into the bottom of the lake. Of course, depth will be determined by the speed of the retrieval...
Arrowhead is solid oak. Outline is cut out on scroll saw. The "chipped out" edges came from pressing the piece against a spindle sander at an angle to get the desired effect. I had my local trophy shop laser engrave the image and lettering.
The oak cost me about $5. The laser engraving was...
For about $30, you can build a solid lake rake with common materials found at your local home improvement or hardware store. I've pulled hundreds of discs out with mine, sometimes two and three at a time!
I can toss my rake about 40 feet out. Good fishing!
Materials:
1 - 1/4" x 50' rope
2 -...
I'm not trying to drum up business, just wanted to share a few of my woodworking hobby disc golf projects. I build these for local tournaments at materials costs only, plus my entry fee. Thanks for looking and enjoy!

I think public and state parks are good places to rake. Some of them may prohibit you from actually getting in the water, but raking for discs shouldn't be a problem.
It certainly peaks the curiosity of everyone around you. I couldn't begin to count the number of people who have come and...
Your cell phone rings and the person on the other end tells you he found a disc with your name and number on it. It's your favorite "go to" driver that hit the heavy brush two days ago. You couldn't be happier. "You can have it back for $5.00," he says.
Somewhere else, a local player...

Holes well marked with excellent tee signs. Landscape is beautifully manicured, with a beautiful mix of Oak and Cypress.
Holes 1-3 tee boxes and baskets under a few inches of water at my visit. These holes have Cypress trees with very low limbs, making long drives difficult.
It appears this...
