I don't ever recall in any sport with mass spectators, where a competitor had to take a bathroom break. Let alone in a "final." Not in basketball, football, tennis, ball golf, soccer, beach vollyball, etc. You suck it up and hold it in.

Does cycling count? On long tours, riders at times stop to take bathroom breaks, but if you have to go while the peloton is moving, you relieve yourself on the go (actually not kidding).

Also, you certainly have bathroom breaks during tennis matches, even in finals. An official is sent to escort the player just so nothing illegal takes place.

Baseball has a seventh inning stretch. Football and basketball have half times. Really most team sports where you can sub a player in as well would do the trick..

JohnE has a bad attitude. The weird thing here is that at many other courses it would be entirely unnecessary to have to go somewhere to use the restroom because you aren't out in the wide open with a bunch of spectators around and can just take a leak behind a nearby tree. By the rules it would be a warning IF you somehow don't include relieving yourself to be allowed for by "reasonable time."

Do you not remember the infamous Manny Ramirez breaks in the green monster?

Dude, you really must love JohnE, how anyone can defend him while he is completely in the wrong is mind blowing

Dude, you're totally missing my point, brah! I'm arguing about the inconsistency of the rules being called, as well as McCray looking like a douche (which you missed me agree with - if I loved him, why would I do that?).

If you haven't noticed, disc golf is about to try to legitimize itself as a sport to the world. Do you really think that people are going to invest time in a sport that sees inconsistent rules calling based on what looks like a popularity contest? Do you think having people fishing and biking in the middle of the course at a National Tour event is going to show them that we're a serious sport and not a free game played in parks? You could tell McBeth knew he shouldn't have pranked Cupcake like he did and no amount of "love you, Cupcake" from the pranksters is going to change that he looked like he was about to cry on video? Terry even said he wasn't a part of it because it was embarrassing. This isn't even getting to mention McBeth's animated and fake chatter on video with his disc that started the second the first tour was announced.

I really hope all this money isn't being pissed away, but I'm not holding my breath.

Seriously? Must never have played any of those sports above a elementary school level.

You really believe that baseball players never leave the dugout when their team is batting, football and basketball players never head to the locker room when they're on the sideline, tennis and beach volleyball players never leave the court during changeover or TV timeouts, ball golf players never disappear into the woods (or one of the gazillion porta-potties stationed around the course during televised tournaments) between holes or while they're waiting for the group in front of them to finish the hole? Cuz if that's what you believe, you need to get out and watch live sports more.

I haven't seen a single post about the lack of porta potties at Fountain. I'm assuming there were none, or not enough. Can anyone who was there verify?

I watch a decent amount of tennis and in big long matches bathroom breaks are part of it. Sometimes there is drama around it, like if they take too long. I mean lets say you have momentum and there is a big break, things change. Some tennis players also use injury breaks in the same way. Anyway in Tennis a big match can last 5 hours. Changeovers are not very long. They have to give them bathroom breaks. A disc golf round can last 3+ hours. This is not league, these guys cannot duck out and take a leak on a tree, there is tons of people watching them.

Officials don't always catch everything. I think back to Tiger at The Masters a couple years ago misplaying a drop after hitting in the water on hole15(reported by a caller). Dustin Johnson at the US Open(or was it the PDGA championship?) grounding out his club in a bunker(reported by a caller).

Did they have to change the rules about that after that it something? Cuz not everone is on tv? I might be imagining that

...what kind of person tricks a 13-yr-old to get in front of the camera and then humiliates him publicly, on his birthday. W.t.f. That was disturbing. :|

That was uncalled for. Sure, it was a joke, but any laughter was paid for by the kid. He didn't seem to find it funny. Happy birthday, buddy! As a special gift the guy you look up to will embarrass you in front of his fans. :|

nobody gave you props for this one, I thought it was pretty funny.

My last word on "timegate" (can we be like ESPN and call every controversy ____gate?) is that remember the difference, it's not whether he was right or wrong about McBeth taking more than 30 seconds - it's that he didn't call it but continued to chirp. That's where people are taking an issue. If he had called it, he would have still been...harsh...but technically within his right to serve McBeth with a warning.

Yup.

It's unprofessional to whine and complain about a potential rules violation happening on your card. Get directly to making a call or shut up about it. Johne had the opportunity to bring an official in on this and at least get a ruling in a nonemotional way.

It's funny because it sure seemed like JohnE dodnt understand

"Its my turn to throw, does anyone not know the rules on this"

Uh yeah john, you don't know the rule. Its a warning, you don't get to skip him and tell him hes taking a par plus 4 or whatever you were trying to do.

Couldn't they have just skipped him and let him throw last?

^ This.

It was his birthday for cryin out loud, and he's a 13 yr old kid. Not a teammate.

Who teaches their kid to accept public humiliation from adults like that? How much abuse has this kid taken in the past? How much will he accept in the future from people who laugh it off as nothing, using him as a tool for their personal entertainment while claiming "love you Cupcake"?

Maybe later, off camera, that kid stood up for himself, and kicked McBeth in the nuts. I sure hope so.

I have a whole new perspective on McBeth after seeing that episode. Usually I wouldn't judge anyone for one mistake, but that was NOT accidental, not spontaneous... he clearly orchestrated a bunch of adults to humiliate a kid on his birthday. There were several stages to it, gathering the group of guys, acquiring the cupcakes, getting the kid out to the camera. At any point in the planning, he could have realized how horrible this would be for the kid (and how badly it reflects upon his McBeth brand), and McBeth could have called it off. He didn't.
