A tournament sponsored by an insurance company should offer some kind of insurance, right? So, you have the option to sacrifice some points up-front, to increase the likelihood that you get a decent score. Or, you can choose to go uninsured (risk falling like a stone from a ledge?) for the chance of maximizing your score.
This insurance comes in the form of delaying your prediction. If you choose to pick before the…
1) first round starts, you can earn up to 100% of the potential points.
2) second round starts, you can earn up to 80% of the potential points.
3) third round starts, you can earn up to 60% of the potential points.
4) fourth round starts, you can earn up to 40% of the potential points.
5) fifth round starts...actually never mind. This is a PREDICTION contest, after all.
First round starts on Thursday, August 18th. "100 percenters," get your picks in before then.
For clarity, please state what option you are picking. Of course, we'll all be able to tell when predictions are made, but this should ensure we're on the same page. Please don't (for example) say you're picking the 100% option, and post after 8 AM CST on the 18th. If you've missed your preferred window, just pick the next available slot/insurance option.
MPO - Pick 4 players, with your predicted winner listed first (2 points for correct winner)
1st place - 6 points
2nd place - 5 points
3rd place - 4 points
4th place - 3 points
5th place - 0 points
FPO - Pick 2 players, with your predicted winner listed first (1 point for correct winner)
1st place - 5 points
2nd place - 4 points
3rd place - 0 points
Bonus 1 - Predict the manufacturer with the most players finishing in the top 10 of MPO. The categories are: 1) Innova/Discmania; 2) Lat64/DD/Westside; 3) Other (Prodigy, Discraft, Legacy, DGA, unsponsored, etc.). 3 points
Bonus 2 - Who will shoot the highest rated round of the tournament? The choices are McBeth, Wysocki, or anybody else. 1 point for correctly guessing McBeth/Wysocki. 2 points for correctly naming an individual other than McBeth/Wysocki if they do achieve the highest rated round (though if you don't get the individual right, you can still get 1 point this way).
Bonus 3 - ...What course will see the highest rated round? (2 points)
Bonus 4 - How many aces will there be? (1 point) How many will be captured on film? (1 point)
Bonus 5 - Which MPO sub-1000 player will have the best tournament (1 point)? What place will the best MPO sub-1000 player finish (1 point)
