Welcome to the 1st Ever Morley Field Ice Bowl! This event is part of the 2022 Golden Sombrero Series of Ice Bowls held in Southern California that has been happening since 2007. This is a charity fundraising event (as are all Ice Bowls) and we will be raising funds for the Feeding America - San Diego. Proceeds from your entry fee, mulligan sales and other donations will go towards our charity. The food bank can feed four hungry people for $1 and their services are currently in great demand - help us feed our hungry neighbors.
COVID sucks. But we're doing our best to deal with it and still hold a fun event. We're using a "Flex Start" format, which means that you can start your 18-hole round at any time on Saturday, Feb. 12th from 6am to noon. You must turn in your score by 3pm!
We have reserved the tee times from 9am to 11am, so you do not have to sign up for a tee time unless you want to play outside of that time (e.g., 6-8:50am or 11:10am-noon). If you schedule your own tee time, you can sign up using the registration choice that is $5 less. We are asking for your preferred block of time for your tee time and names of people you would like to play with. We're going to try to assign tee times using this info. We'll post the results once the event fills and we fill out the tee times. We're OK with people swapping times. As people sign up for the "Earlier than 9am" spots we'll add more registration spots, but we're limited to 60 players in that 9-11 window.
REMEMBER!!! This is a charity fundraiser. It's trophy-only, but we'll have raffle prizes. Oh...and you can buy mulligans for $1 each for a "do-over" (everyone gets 3 mulligans as part of their entry). And mulligans double as raffle tickets!!!!!!!!!
Play begins on Saturday, February 12 at 6am (or possibly earlier...we'll open the UDisc scoring at 6am) and ends at 3pm. We will be playing 19 holes of disc golf, with a limit of two mulligans per "shot" (drive, approach, putt). Your entry fee gets you a Golden Sombrero stamp disc and three mulligans. Extra mulligans cost $1 each. The winner in each division will receive a custom-made Ice Bowl trophy. We will start handing out trophies and raffle prizes at 3pm on the 12th. We'll post trophy and raffle winners on the Facebook page listed here (https://www.facebook.com/grou...895222627366) so you can decide whether or not to come back.....
