I love pigs! I don't want to improve my game, I want to grow fat an old with my bacon. Mmmmm Bacon. I also only use them for forehand approach. Thought about giving a z-zone a go considering the rim is someone similar or at least comfortable. Any suggestions? And it doesn't sound like anyone was attacking anyone. Something about sticks n stones?
The zone is overstable like the pig, but has a complete different type of rim. The pig rim is deep, zone is shallow. Also, with the Pig there is a thumb track on top, zone, no thumb track. Pig plastic is very different than z zone plastic, which is an important factor for me. Zone is known for skipping, Pig is known for staying put. None of these make one disc better than the other, just different. You mentioned throwing pigs for forehand approach, imo, the z zone is an excellent fh flick disc. I just started throwing both discs recently and i believe they have some overlap, but they are both in my bag because each has unique abilities the other does not. One difference is the zone's ability to fly longer at lower heights (4-5' off ground). If it's a 175' shot and i have to keep it super low and it has to hook up at the end and I need a little bit of skip, the zone is AWESOME at that shot. The pig doesn't seem to fly as far on a low ceiling shot or a 20ft skip on the end of its flight. The pig needs a little bit more air to execute a shot like that. Anyway, that's just one difference that makes me carry both discs. Both are fun to throw and they each fill different needs for me, thus they both have a place in my bag I say get them both!
