[Innova] Pro pig

I love pigs! I don't want to improve my game, I want to grow fat an old with my bacon. Mmmmm Bacon. I also only use them for forehand approach. Thought about giving a z-zone a go considering the rim is someone similar or at least comfortable. Any suggestions? And it doesn't sound like anyone was attacking anyone. Something about sticks n stones?

The zone is overstable like the pig, but has a complete different type of rim. The pig rim is deep, zone is shallow. Also, with the Pig there is a thumb track on top, zone, no thumb track. Pig plastic is very different than z zone plastic, which is an important factor for me. Zone is known for skipping, Pig is known for staying put. None of these make one disc better than the other, just different. You mentioned throwing pigs for forehand approach, imo, the z zone is an excellent fh flick disc. I just started throwing both discs recently and i believe they have some overlap, but they are both in my bag because each has unique abilities the other does not. One difference is the zone's ability to fly longer at lower heights (4-5' off ground). If it's a 175' shot and i have to keep it super low and it has to hook up at the end and I need a little bit of skip, the zone is AWESOME at that shot. The pig doesn't seem to fly as far on a low ceiling shot or a 20ft skip on the end of its flight. The pig needs a little bit more air to execute a shot like that. Anyway, that's just one difference that makes me carry both discs. Both are fun to throw and they each fill different needs for me, thus they both have a place in my bag:D I say get them both!

Pro-D and ESP are far from trash. Glo Z is the best LE plastic.

GLow Z is pretty awesome, agreed, but Pro D feels like wax and takes hits about as well. ESP beats up WAY too fast for a premium plastic and pales in comparison to every other comparable plastic on the market. Now I have nothing against or for any particular company and collect more Discraft stuff than anything else, but I also won't throw a lot of Discraft because their best plastic is so limited.

Not all Pro-D Zones are waxy. My first Zone, a D, is grippy as hell and beat to death but is still my favorite. My ESP was beat on for almost three years and never lost any stability. Hell, it still looks new.

People are quick to jump on LE plastic for being better because it's a single run. Look at the multiple runs of Z Drones. The first run is the best of the three. Look at the ESP Comets. The 3rd run is domey, beats into perfection, and is wonderfully grippy, but the tooled runs are considered better. If we see another run of LE plastic Zones, I have a feeling that the love for them wouldn't be the same.

So, I asked this in the other Pig thread, but has anyone found a Putter that drives better than the Pig? I've tried a LOT and havent really found anything equivalent, honestly. Ions work pretty well for me, and I can actually get my Pures out farther than my Pig by quite a bit but it requires a lot more work and technique. My buddy geofflaw swears by the Judge, and I've seen him nail some gnarly drives with it.

But my heart is with the Pig. Thoughts?

Geoff Law from Cedar Rapids?

I'm glad people on here judge me because I don't throw what they like. And it's not even that. I throw Pigs. I throw Pures. Your throw Pigs. You throw Pures. So why are we fighting?

And for the record, I don't take advice from guys I've never thrown with, or at least seen plenty of videos of. Not being a jerk, just how I operate.

All I asked was what people thought the best driving putter was. My opinion was the Pig for what I consider a true putter-drive shot. I like the Pure more for upshot type stuff, because it's much more workable and requires better technique. It can do much, much more than my Pigs can, but just not that straight deadnuts ace run like my Pigs.

So far, the Pure has gotten a lot of love which is understandable. Like I said, it's more versatile, which is why I use it for Putting duties and frequently mid-range shots. We've also seen some Zone and Jokeri love. I think the Jokeri, from what I've read and seen, is more along the lines of the Pig. Any other votes? (for the record, my buddy standing behind me votes for the Judge and the VP)

Well now looks like I'll have to get a zone. I agree the pig, at least for me as well, needs a little bit of a ceiling as it does not skip much. Any sellers? I'll also take an asia dd2/pd2?

PeoAs far pigs go, its nearly impossible to over torque them imo. keep telling me about the Jokeri. What's it's flight path compared to a Pig? How much power (and by power I mean torque because I suck at this game) can it take?

As a former pig tosser, the Jokeri will not take as much torque, tad slower, a lot more glide. It's like a very forgiving Ion, but with a very solid/beefy rim.

More to follow after the casino....

Mostly flick, good straight drives 200-250 little fade no skip. Will hold an anny line but flatten out the last 50'. Premium plastic is nowhere as tacky as r/pro, so over torquing shouldnt be as much an issue. Fwiw I could straight drive an Ion 175, but I aint the greatest either.

If you want more distance use a mid! Putters aren't made for distance. Smh.

and by the way, best putter for SHORT drives is the pro pork

Had a near ace today with my pig. Hit dead center of the basket :/. 4 inches higher and it would have been perfect.

Well done! Pig is an Ace Magnet on short holes! I won a CTP at my Ice Bowl today with my Orange New Pro Pig. But I did get a little tree love to help me though.....
