PLUS

The first 100 am & rec players (adv, adv mast, am men & women, nov, jr) will receive a tournament stamped disc and a tournament stamped mini driver.

First come first served on which model disc you receive, choose from what's available.

Ace Pots

Vegas style, $1-5, one for each course. CTP throw offs after the second round if needed.

CTPs

Lafayette LOVES CTPs.

Already have enough stuff rounded up to put a CTP or Longest Putt prize on every hole on both courses, that's 36 chances to take home cash or merchandise.

Mini Basket Throw Off

100% free to all players!

Two throws with your mini, closest to pin takes home a brand new DisCatcher Mini basket.

Start working on your mini marksmanship.

Opposite Hand Opposite Grip Long Drive Contest

My personal favorite fun new thing to try.

It is exactly as it sounds - if you normally throw right-hand-back-hand, you're gonna throw for distance left-hand-fore-hand. It is funnier to watch than a dizzy distance competition and the discs don't go nearly as far.

Not exactly sure what the prize is going to be yet, rest assured it will be something cool.

Lunch

As usual FREE LUNCH!

Planning a good old fashioned coon @ss fish fry..

Fried Fish
Potato Salad
White Beans & Rice
French Bread
Dessert
Beer & Soda

Player's Party

It is no accident that this tournament falls on the same weekend as Festival Internationale, one of the largest 100% FREE outdoor music festivals in the world.

So of course we are gonna roll over to Festival after the second round and party the night away!

Check out the website for the entire lineup of musical acts, food, beverages & vendors.. Festival

I know where I'll be Saturday night, a stop at the Bon Creole's booth for a crawfish and spinach bowl, washed down with a beverage or two or three at the LA Biergarten and then over to listen to Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys at 9:00.

Friday Doubles and Sunday Doubles

Consider joining us for a round of doubles on Friday afternoon at Heymann Park. More info once the details are finalized.

OR

Consider sticking around for our regularly scheduled round of random draw doubles on Sunday morning at 10:00 at Pa Davis.

OR

Do both and play all 72 holes in Lafayete in one weekend, take in all that Festival has to offer and of course be our guest at the one and only Spring Fling.

Tournament Update and Recap

Registration

24 players registered on DGU right now. That is a lot considering that we are accepting walk-ups on Saturday and the tournament is still a week away. This tells me we are going to have a big field.

Online closes at noon on Friday and I will be emailing the pre-registered players this week to find out which shirt size they wish to reserve.

Go to Disc Golf United and get registered. You will get the size shirt you want plus you won't have to wait in what is sure to be a line Saturday morning.

Went with store bought trophies this time and have no regrets about it at all. These look great and I would be pleased to win one myself.

Courses

Thanks to everybody who came out and helped the last two weekends, Acadiana is looking its springtime finest. Everything is mowed and trimmed, new benches are out on the holes that needed them, pads around the tee boxes are level and dressed, signs are freshly painted and it is looking GOOD.

Blue and Gold tees will be clearly marked with paint and flags on Friday before the tournament.

And the discs of course.

Besides the usual molds in the usual plastic, we've got some unique stuff in the payout discs such as the Atlas and Nova overmolds, KC Pro Rocs and Aviars in glow plastic, metal flake Champion Roc3s and glow gummy Champion Bosses.

As always, top half of the field gets paid in Amateur divisions in Lafayette and we always pay well over 100%

CTP and Longest Putt prizes

Every hole (all 36) will have a CTP or Longest Putt prize on it.

In the mix...

6 disc + shirt + mini

Pro Divisions Payouts

There's $2,000 extra reasons for players to join us next weekend in Lafayette for the 17th Annual Spring Fling.
