Am-B/Pro-C PDGA sanctioned tournament

Two 27 hole rounds at Westpark, in Joliet, IL. (3 temp holes)

Westpark is one of the most popular courses in the Joliet area. Hole 2 is an easy shot down from the top of the ridge to the basket below, while hole 11, The Green Mile, is a long shot with a fairway that narrows significantly from the halfway point to the pin. The course plays thru mature oaks. Tee pads are natural.

The current plan is to add the same 3 temp holes between 8 and 10 that we added for Chain Reaction. Each year, we will try to add something to put the "wild" in The Wild West. This year, we will be adding some unique OB lines from holes 6 thru 11, including the temp holes. The current plan is to change hole 11 (The Green Mile) into "Three Mile Island", a monster hole with an island green, and two large islands in the fairway forcing you to plan your landing spot.

Pre-registration is highly encouraged. By pre-registering, you help us run a smoother tournament. You can get more info, or pre-register here: http://www.acesandchains.com/node/791

Day of Registration (if spots are available) and Check-In will be between 8am-9am both days. Please check in when you get there. There will be no late fee for "day of" registration.

Players meeting will be held at 9:15am. Tee off at approx. 9:30am. Tournament headquarters will be in the pavillion above hole 8. The pavillion is off Wheeler Ave.

Tentative division schedule:

Saturday:

All Women's divisions

Tournament fee is $35 if you are a current PDGA member, or $45 if you are not a member. $2 Ace, and $3 CTP funds. And, if paying online, or in the shop by credit card, there is a $2 processing fee. All cash registrations do not pay the processing fee.

This is the last Aces and Chains PDGA Tournament of the year, and your last chance to add points to your total toward qualifying for the AC Finals.

OB Lines and Clean up day

We're hosting a clean up day for West Park on Sunday (Aug 19) from 8am-12noon. Looking for volunteers to help pick up garbage around the course. Garbage bags, and a cooler full of drinks (soda, water, and gatorade) will be provided.

We'll also be doing the course prep that morning, including mowing the green for 8A, marking all the tee and pin locations for the temp holes (8a-8c) and putting in the OB lines from holes 6 thru 11.

So, come out and help clean up the course for the tournament next weekend, and then you can play the course in tournament setup (minus the temp baskets) with everything marked.

Thanks in advance to everyone who comes out to help!

Course is tournament ready!

Thanks to Aaron Studer, Ismael Ochoa, Jose Herrera, and Diane Johnson for all their help cleaning up the course, removing brush and branches, etc.

OB lines are marked with yellow twine and flags. Temp hole tee and pin locations are marked as well.

Practice, practice, practice!

Weather looks great for both Saturday, and Sunday. 87 and sunny on Saturday, 80 and partly cloudy on Sunday.

Win a free (no money taken out of the purse) Limited Edition Fade Gear tournament bag if you take first place in the Men's Novice, Rec, Int, or Adv divisions!
