[Innova] Innova Bullfrog

Pure like??

If you're asking about the Bullfrog, it is nothing like the Pure at all.

If you're asking about the Marshal (which I was discussing in the post before yours), the Marshal is slightly more stable and feels a little more comfortable in my hand (others may prefer the Pure, though).

Pure like??

I thought my Bullfrog flew like a dx rhyno. I only threw it 20 or so times but it had good hss a little bit of a fade and not much glide.
Somebody earlier said the Bullfrog looked like a Wizard3 and I think that is pretty accurate.
I didn't putt with it.

This has beat the Voodoo out as my main putter. I really like how low profile it is. It comes out of the hand cleanly more often. And for me, the lack of glide means I need to commit to my putts and make sure the disc comes in chain high, and I'm making more putts due to that commitment. Also as has been said, if you blow by the basket its not going much farther. Loving this XT blend as well.

Overall if you are one that fears missing the basket and the putt after, this thing just dumps off. It can roll as others can, but it's very consistent.

Ordered 2 more. The one I had was 170 got one at 175 and one at 162g for approach shots. I love how this thing sits.

The XT plastic is something I have never owned before, but it might be the best thing I like about this disc. It has been fairly cold out, and this plastic is easy to grip in that weather, even when wet. It isn't soft, reminds me of a more durable Classic Blend plastic which I am very familiar with.

I think the numbers are pretty spot on. Maybe instead of 3 1 0 1, it could be 3 1.5 0 1.5 which isn't a big deal at all for me.

Got a 170 Bullfrog for the holidays and I really like it. I had been putting with a 172 soft glo Roach but now the Bullfrog is in the bag. Really like the XT plastic too. It's not quite as straight as the Roach but I feel like it's more forgiving of my poor form and I like the small bead on it.

The thing i love about wizards is their 'go as you throw' glide. Would you say the BF has a touch less glide/distance potential with the same power compared with the Wiz? Do they feel similar in the hand? Does the BF fly anything like a scale?

Bullfrog has less glide than a Wizard (I've only thrown Supersoft Wizards, so take that into account).

They do not feel similar in my hand. YMMV, of course.

I haven't had the pleasure of trying a Scale, so I can't make that comparison.

I like the Bullfrog. This newer blend of XT plastic feels great. When thrown hard the Bullfrog goes absolutely straight. I let someone who has 530'+ feet of power rip on the bull frog and it had absolutely no turn and finished dead straight as well. When powered down, it's more true to flight numbers. I'd say on approaches 3/1/0/1.5. On drives 3/1/0/0.

I had to buy a Bullfrog to test it. Those flight numbers are so interesting, no glide and small fade. Berg is the only disc what comes to my mind with the same kind of flight numbers. And Berg is way more stable than Bullfrog.

Bullfrog is very straight disc right out of the box. It does drop down to the ground easier than other putters, which have more glide! Very useful for backhand and forehand approaches. It is also very good for straight putter drives for shorter holes. Interesting to see how it does beat in. I would say that the flight numbers are quite correct. Maybe 3/2/0/0.5 with my throws.

I had no purpose to add any Innova plastic to my bag this year, but this is so cool disc to throw. Let's see if the Bullfrog can compete with my beat up Basic Jokeri. :D

Bf flies nothing like a scale. Scale pops up and wants to hyzer, bf just flies like a brick wherever you point it.

I also see few similarities with a wiz, although their flights are a lot more similar than a scale. Wiz has noticeably more glide than a bf.

What I want to know is when will I find a beadless bullfrog? I love the disc, the flight and feel of the xt is great but man... don't like beads. So close!

It is very possible that there will not be a beadless Bullfrog. Not saying it'll never happen, but part of the Bullfrog is that V-tech underside, and the bead is part of the V-tech, along with the convex rim. But contact Innova and ask them about it, and maybe something good will happen for ya.

Edited to add: I'm trying to think of a very shallow but beadless disc, and nothing is coming to mind. I don't remember if the Gateway Magic is beaded or not. Maybe someone else will think of the right answer...

Anyone have an old Bulldog to compare this one to? Just want to see how different they are since the names are so similar

I have a Bulldog. It has a very thick rim, and was made to float on water. Not a bad disc, and nothing like the Bullfrog.

Magic is unbeaded but not particularly shallow. They came out with a shallow Magic along with that glut of shallow versions of GW putters, name escapes me. Oh, the Shaman.

Magic is an awesome US driving putter BTW.

I must have one of those shallow Magics then, as mine feels pretty shallow and reminds me of a DX Colt or Stud in that arena. And I like the Magic as an approach putter.
