2022 DGPT Championship Oct 12-16

While this is generally true, I disagree for this tournament. Playing smart at this course means, once you fall off the pace, you need to start going for riskier and riskier shots to catch back up. If you're at +1 with 5 holes to play, you basically have to birdie out to even have a chance. If you get a slightly poor lie on a par 4, it doesn't matter, you have to go for it to even have a chance. That generally leads to a riskier shot, which could easily result in a double or triple bogey. Do that twice in 5 holes, and you're at +6.

Additionally, you are not an intermediate player if you played this version of Nevin blind and shot a 68. That would be rated 975ish. Are you sure it was the same layout? Or are you not an intermediate player?

INT players shoot 975 quite frequently. They also tend to shoot 850 fairly frequently.

I'm not watching the coverage but wondering if the commentators have been using Barbasol oriented comments like "missed it by a whisker", "had a close shave getting in", or "player was in a lather after going OB twice on the hole"?

Yes, that type of thing is Terry's bread and butter. They have "close shave" replays often.

Gotta keep sponsors happy...

Another commenter kindly pointed out that they extended the layout and lowered the pars for this version…so yeah, no comparison at all. Glad to know I'm not losing my mind.

So wait, does Barbasol make sausages or shaving products I'm confused

Meat products company Johnsonville sponsors the inflatable introduction tunnel. They do the same for the cornhole tournaments which they are the driving force in promoting...

"With a laundry list of sizzling entertainment planned for the two live SuperHole broadcasts on ESPN2, Johnsonville and the ACL will leave viewers with just one question on the big day – why isn't this a primetime broadcast all year!?. Sausage fans will rejoice as "John. Son. Ville" makes its debut, the ACL creates their first-ever SuperHole ad and cornhole legends are born as athletes look to serve up and cement their sausage-tunnel runs in history and claim the first-ever WS Moore SuperHole Trophy*, presented by Johnsonville."

So wait….a sausage company sponsors a tunnel? The jokes write themselves….

FPO really making it hard for them self. .non of them really playing that great.

Tattar, Scoggins, V. Mandujano, Gannon.
Just feels like they've been earning this the entire season.

Strange to see that Paige is not even close. . . after Europe she has not really been close.
Shes never been the player that practice super hard in the of season so i wonder how her 2023 will look like

I hope Paige comes back "loose" and therefore strong. I don't claim to know how her mind works, but I think at times she tries too hard, and the whole documentary thing probably took some of her focus away from events.

Guess we'll find out next year...
Nice to see some real depth in the FPO field though. Henna and Evaliina are deadly when they don't let their putting take them out of contention.

That anonymous Quilette article seemed to suggest that Natalie Ryan beating her at DGLO had some impact. She hasn't won since then.
