Has anyone integrated a camelbak water bladder into their bag ? If so, pics ?

I was thinking of adding an extension tube that went up to my quad straps and ended on my shoulder.

I do this in the summer, but i have the innova deluxe bag with the big pocket, and i run it up the backpack straps... very well worth it.

I did this last summer on the really hot days....

I would half fill the bladder & freeze it and fill the rest with cold water and it would slowly melt & keep everything nice & cold. The only thing is you have to push the water in the tube back in to the bladder after a drink or your next drink of water will be hot from the sun.

Is that CamelBak just wrapped/strapped around your DG bag ? Any carabiners needed to hold it in place ?

I'm trying to find a camelback flashflo bladder (the small horizontal one) to put in the mesh pocket on my fade tourney then run the hose up my quads. Haven't been able to find just the bladder tho.

What kind of computer/internet machinery are you using to connect to the interwebs ?

I used this website called "Google" and was able to find a bladder very quickly, oddly enough it was on the CamelBak website :

Sticking with camelbak tho, I know they make reliable stuff, plus that one will be too big. And I would suggest not being a smark alec or your experience on here won't be the best.

Someone asked for this in another thread. I've been meaning to post it in here for a little while but never got around to it.

Bladders are great and all, I use them for mountain biking with an actual Camelbak backpack, empty and toss the bladder in the freezer til the next time. Works awesome in that instance, but DG bags just aren't designed around a bladder. What they do have is bottle pockets, so...

I sewed a couple elastic loops to my Quads to route the hose from the bottle pocket. You'll need a Camelbak better bottle and the hose attachment. (My wife and I use these for backpacking and hiking and they work awesome.) I think a bottle is usually about 15 bucks and the hose is another 10 bucks. (REI has the 32oz Better Bottle on sale right now for just over 10 bucks I think.)

Make sure you get a heavy duty needle and thread because these straps are a pain to run a needle through. The lower loop I sewed was especially difficult, to the point that I couldn't even get the needle through the right side (some tough strap material underneath from the logo strip that goes across the back/middle of the straps). I just used some Shoe Goo. It's held up for the last few months, but I'll probably have to come up with something a little more permanent in the future.

Here's a closeup of the loop that is closest to the mouthpiece. You can also see the bottle attachment to the left. First time I've ever really sewn anything, so it's not the cleanest job. :|

Yes. I just ran the strap that would go around your waist and threaded it through the loops that my quad strap hooked on to then snugged the strap. The side pockets helped keep it in place. It stayed in place without any complicated wrangling. Although using carabiners to help hold it in place would probably would work.

The black metal clip I used to hold the tube on the quad strap.

Another thing I do in the summer is half fill 24 ounce soda bottles with water & freeze it then fill with water to take with me. They usually melt at just the right pace so you always have cold water.

When I got my new phone (Galaxy Nexus - AMAZING!!!), I traded my old one to a friend for his old bag.

Still kinda empty (I'm still fairly new), but enjoying it so far.

My only mod so far is the green paracord handle, and some paracord zipper pulls. Later on I'll waterproof the bottom, build a custom frame, and most likely some other mods.

lso took some plastic dividers from a 3-ring binder and cut them to size to help reinforce the back and side walls of the bag, since it's not yet full. I still plan on making an actual frame for it, but this will work for now.
