So I refuse to pay the ridiculous prices vendors are trying to charge for backpacks. Makes no sense that an actual golf club bag with all its plastic and extra materials can be had for cheap, while something as simple as a disc golf bag is $200 minimum? When are these vendors, or a different one going to bring their pricing down to earth?

Seriously, why are Disc Golfers paying twice what these bags are worth?
Im going to keep using my regular backpack until the rest of the Disc Golf Scene gets another few backpack vendors that aren't ripping people off for twice what bags are worth.

And shame on any of them trying to peddle chinese products at premium prices.

I'm confused. Is this a rant or a suggestion? In any case. Check out the Salient catalyst

It's 119 for the pre order. Top of the line materials in a very well thought out bag design for a very nice price.
Oh in addition there are several other companies that don't have the 200 dollar price point.

It's an honest question and or observation that these bags were way over priced. In my opinion anyway. Maybe its just me though, just checking.
Still seems silly when compared too real golf bags like this?

Golf has a much much larger audience. Disc golf bags are run in maybe the 100s. Golf bags in the 1000s. More bags equal less cost involved to produce etc. we are a niche sport, and these bags are niche also. It is the way it is. Until a big name dips their toes in the water the prices are the way they are.

Thanks, that Saliants almost a reasonable price, but my guess is it's made in China?

Disc Golf bags, in order to be cool looking you gotta build it with quality materials. And while there is only a handful of companies pumping them out, they will stay expensive. Get some pvc pipe and make your own.

Heck, just get yourself a nice shoulder bag (Fade bags are awesome) and slap a set of quads on it. Way cheaper than $200. And, just as comfortable. :)

Murcia made!!!

Hmmn, Thats not that unreasonable. Seems as well built and designed as others on the market? Perhaps a little less polished or flashy? Possibly slightly smaller? Thats cool though, don't see myself ever carrying more than 10-15 discs. Going to keep my eye on it. Thanks

might try that or use canvas/couderoy and a cobbler to make a multi sleeve/bag that easily slides in and out of packs.

American made and the quality is as top notch as the 200 plus bags

That is a nice bag, thank you for bringing it to my attention.

Perhaps they're so "pricey" because they're sold in super low quantities that to make any profit, they have to raise prices. Or consider the fact that there really isn't a ton of competition so they can charge whatever they want.

Im gonna guess by what Saliant is offering that there is definitely some hefty profit margins due to it being a niche market. Glad Saliant was smart enough to slice off a piece of it. Id say theres still room for more:) Those are going to go like Hot Cakes I imagine.

If you're not carrying that much you can opt for a smaller shoulder bag:

http://www.innovadiscs.com/disc-bags/standard.html

I use the Innova Standard bag and it holds 12 discs just fine. Even with 12 discs, I can fit two cans of drink on the inside next to the discs and another in the bottle holder. Then it has a few more pockets for other stuff too.

Less than a hundred best value no doubt is the fade tourney my old one is on its 3rd owner bout 100 washes and still holding up and its 5 years old all for bout 40 or 50 dollars

Thanks all

Last two replies were helpful, but Im a back pack guy. Shoulder straps a must and I am Usually carrying some other stuff besides Discs so some extra pockets space and stow away spots are essential :)
