as long as it's right behind my mini, can i stand on top of my bag and putt?
Nope, that would be considered "Building a Lie" and is not legal

I get your point.
I don't agree that it doesn't affect putting percentages though
Think of super windy days and the fact that you could step towards the basket. It would definitely help
Plus it would open a whole new can of worms of if the putt was released before the swing foot came down. I can foresee lots of arguments
THIS pretty much sums up my first post. Yes courses have designed putting circles sometimes very accurate and others not at all. Not to mention some wooded courses I don't even think there is a defined green that large in the first place.
At 10 meters, a player can move. At 9.99999 meters a player cannot. Why is it okay to make the game easier outside 10 but not inside? Run-ups on tee shots and approaches make the game "easier". I don't see that as a bad thing. This game will continue to be challenging regardless of if we allow players to follow through on putts.

Then mark your disc and get closer, or if they did already then they shouldn't have so they can be outside of 10 meters.
There will be arguments over release during step-throughs.
It will create a similar conundrum to the jump-putt debate
I have watched my fair share of tourny vids and even the guys step putting seem awfully close to a foot fault when they do it
My preference would be that the rule be changed to allow jumping in any direction where your last point of contact before releasing the throw still has to be on your 30cm mark and you have to release the throw before making contact again with the playing surface. I think that would add an athletic element to the game for some types of throws such as leaping sideways from behind a bush before throwing.
That argument is one we have for every shot a player takes. I don't see a way around that argument. What I do see a way around is the "Am I outside?" debate and "Why are shots inside the circle seen differently than those inside?"
Probably because we were trying to replicate Ball Golf and creating a "green".

I think you missed the point of that statement. Are you for or against the 10' circle rule and why?
For it.
Im 6'6" and with a pretty big wingspan. Without the 10m rule, I could literally just fall over and slam dunk any 8' or shorter putt.
They are seen differently because you can keep the momentum going forward more with a follow through putt, which is more accurate, so it's seen as cheating. I think the circle should be 50' so there is a definite gap between jump putt and standing putt. At least if they are jumping they are at a more challenging distance. Are you allowed to do a run up in Golf? Why are we allowed to then?
