Paul's response is exactly why I quit volunteering in disc golf. I'm not wasting time with these entitled pricks. I suggest everyone do the same and make the pros and TD's pay you for your course work, tournament volunteer activities, and time away from throwing frisbees.
If everyone recalls, McBeth had a pretty dumb take on Bradley Williams as well.
So this is right in his wheelhouse.
Paul is saying he is OK with what Nikko did. Being OK with screaming at an official's face at a Major, getting close and trying the ghetto "Im going to fight you" act. That is beyond stupid to be OK with that.
Paul's take is so dumb I have a hard time believing its him.

I donate a bunch of time in my local community, but am looking to reduce that significantly, due to the PDGA's actions in this case.
Players are owed a bunch of respect, much more respect than Nikko received in this occasion. Official was clear across the damn fairway. he approached Nikko like he couldn't wait to slap him with the penalty. i will repeat that the PDGA needs to improve their rules so players cannot be targeted like this.
Here's a thought...
If I am a TD?Official and I see a rules violation and it's pretty obvious the rest of the card sees the same violation could/should I call a courtesy violation on the entire card based on section 812.B.2? If people on the card are not enforcing the rules they should ALL get a warning. Then tell them I see this happen again where one of them violates any rule and it's obvious they are either not paying attention or just ignoring it then the entire card gets a stroke...Just sorta thinking out loud here.
801.02.B would be the rule to warn them under- "Players are expected to call a violation when one has clearly occurred". I have never heard of this occurring in any event at any level however.
Neither have I but was wondering if this were even an option...Pretty sure this isn't something I would be that punitive about. But, seems like maybe this is a conversation that needs to start occurring between TDs/Officials and problematic cards.
Hey, can I have your attention please?
Just want to remind everyone that per PDGA rules, players are expected to call a violation when one has clearly occurred.
That means paying attention to what your cardmates are doing, and calling them for obvious rules violations.
We all have to do our part to uphold the integrity of our sport.
Say Paul dominated dg all through the 90s, he wouldn't be a millionaire because there was basically no money in the sport at that time. He dominated during the time dg was blowing up, so he got paid.
You must be fun at parties. Oh wait, you're not.
The blind squirrel knows enough to keep walking and not get involved.
5X Champ - got 10 years, $1M per yearI mean Ricky was coming up during this time too. Sure, he doesn't have the 5x next to his name but he is still a dominant force and yet hasn't reaped the same financial success that Paul has. I think Paul has worked on a lot of things besides throwing frisbees really well to be in that position.

Does Paul want that in every tournament? Should Paul do that every time he gets a time or rule violation? Is this the new, modern disc golf we get to look forward to if Paul were PDGA Overlord?

Pretty clear that Paul thought the circumstances surrounding the call were complete BS. Glad to have him in my corner on this.
it really all about graduating to a decent enforceable set of rules.
The one thing that Paul's take screams to me is "this guy obviously has never had to work a normal job or face consequences of violating workplace rules"
That squirrel just got hit by a car.
