The Myth of Disc Pivot

Chiming in again...

This is all physics, just a matter of tuning your arm, wrist, fingers, and disc in the same way as a trebuchet. It isn't a mystery or secret martial art. Timing and coordination are the absolute most critical elements, more important than strength. But of course, strength, agility, control, etc., are things that will help you to find the zone...if you're having trouble, doing some workouts will not hurt (especially hand, wrist, arm, and shoulder strengthening exercises).

Whether or not it is a myth, that disc MUST pivot off your rip fingers otherwise you're simply not getting the most out of your throw. And you get the multiplicative effect of your throw by finding a way to give it power through the pivot...obviously if you're strong-arming then you're not going to be capable of maximizing the power throught the pivot, you over power it and lose the multiplicative effect along the way. Don't throw it with your arm strength, throw it as a whip starting from your shoulder, reached as far back as possible and feeling the stretch of muscles inside your shoulder blade upon maximum extension...then trigger the cascade from there...that is how you will get your maximum D.
