Pros:
This is a brand new course near West Union, Ohio. This review is taking in the fact that: teepads are coming, a kiosk will likely go in at some point, and there will be some basic trimming in the near future.
The course plays along mildly rolling hills nestled between a park road and beautiful small lake.
Most of the holes are short and slightly technical. Potential for some roll always.
My favorite hole was #4. Nice low ceiling shot with potential for OB road.
Cons:
The cons are mostly in the fact that the course is new. If you arent accustomed to natural tees, or like searching for the tee ares.... you wont like this yet.
The parks department didnt seem to understand that the baskets might need moved at some point. The lock tab was buried on every basket. One of the baskets had the number plate facing the wrong direction.
Hole 1 was very short. I noticed afterward that it is a par 2, which makes more sense now.
Hopefully the course will become 18 holes later. I wish the beautiful lake could have been used more, but given the beginner nature of the course, newbs probably dont want to swim for their disc.
Other Thoughts:
This is going to be a good beginner course to introduce more people to disc golf in the area. Hopefully this will trickle down to more players in the area, and more people playing towards Portsmouth for us.
Cant wait to see how this course grows! Good job guys!
