Good mix of hole types 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Mar 4, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

The tee pads are rectangular concrete, signs show accurate distances and flight paths. There's a sturdy bench at nearly every hole. The types of shots required are quite diverse- several holes are heavily wooded, some are open, some are in between, and most have a significant change in elevation. The course has a really nice flow to it.

Cons:

Several par 4's are extra forgiving and should probably be considered 3's instead. A few of the open holes would benefit from adding obstacles. "Next tee" signs and garbage cans could be added.

Other Thoughts:

Nothing mind-blowing here, but this is a solid course. Holes 5 and 13 are especially fun. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed playing here.

Nice work Akron! 2+ years drive by

Pros:

DisCatcher baskets (18)
Cement pads (18)
Beginner friendly

Other Thoughts:

Pretty good use of the available space. It looks like the dirt work was just finished, as there is still a dozer sitting on hole 12. Lots of different sized trees (for me to hit). It could use some tee signs. The bucket lids by the tees are helpful, but might not last long (I assume they are temp). The course flows well, and I didn't see any shots that conflicted with the next tee area. The place should look like a golf course next year after grass is growing. A few tight shots, and several open shots. A good mix of left and right, doesn't favor one or the other. Paved walking trail winding through the park. A couple of the holes use it as a tee pad. Most holes are about 180-250, but there are some tough shots in there. #18 was the longest I saw, at 310'. It's a nice addition to disc golf in the area, and looks dry enough to be playable all year.
