Over the Hills And Far Away 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 26, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

Wide variety of skills needed for this course. Some holes are very long and wide open and others are very tightly wooded and narrow and everything in between. It is a very challenging and fun course. The property is very beautiful. Very hilly with ponds and streams and wild turkeys running around.

Cons:

I would not recommend this course for a newbie. I may not be the best disc golfer ever, but I've been playing for years. Found it pretty hard to stay positive after getting an 8 on the insanely difficult hole # 4, which is a long, narrow, heavily wooded hole next to the road. And to top it off, the basket is up a little hill at the end. But this is probably as hard as it gets.

Other Thoughts:

This course is very long. If you don't play all the time, try preserving your energy. I was struggling to throw accurately on the last 4 or 5 holes because my arm was getting pretty tired. I enjoyed the challenge.

Must Play Course of Indiana 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 27, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

Excellent hospitality by the property owner. Well thought out course design with rewards and punishment for taking risks. True fairways that challenge length and accuracy. Plenty of land to grow, and the owner says he plans to. This is a premier course to play in Indiana.

Cons:

The only 2 issues I have are ones that are actively being addressed. The course is brand new and the tee pads have drop offs that are in the process of being built up to smooth them out. The rough is very thorny, but the day I played there were workers sitting around the bon fire who just got done clearing thorns. However, have the owner show you where all the thorns and thickets used to be and you will be amazed at how far the property has come in developing this course.

Other Thoughts:

Bring bug spray, snacks and water, and maybe pants to keep the thorns off of you... unless you're lucky enough to keep it out of the rough.

One of the best in the state of Indiana 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 19, 2020 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

This is a top-tier course. It requires players to have a wide variety of shots in order to finish under par. There is a comfortable mix of long, open bombs and touchy shots. There is a lot of elevation change and a mix of uphill/downhill/flat elevation holes. The property is gorgeous and will only get better as the course matures. There has been a lot of hard work and sweat poured into creating this amazing course

Cons:

Like any good pro-level course, mistakes on this course have consequences that almost always lead to added strokes. If you go off the fairway here there are a lot of briars and thorns and they are very thick. This course is very young, and you can still see the remains of what it took to build it. As the course matures, it will be on a level of beauty and difficulty that is matched by only a few other courses in the state, like BC3.

Other Thoughts:

Steve is a great guy and very friendly. He and the people that help him have put A LOT of work into making this course great and it shows. I will definitely be going back again to try to tame this beast.

Oh and good luck with hole 4.

Must Play - Top level course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 11, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

Huge elevation changes throughout the course
Many beautiful "signature" holes
Good use of creeks and a pond
Challenging for any skill level, but fair
Lots of true par 4s
Great mix of wooded and open golf - has many opportunities to "air it out" but also requires technical shots and safe placement shots.
Newly installed concrete tees and good baskets

Cons:

Lots of thorns in the rough - keep it in the fairway!
Course is still a work in progress, lacks signage but owner says they are coming soon

Other Thoughts:

This course is a beast. It will test every part of your game, and there are very few "gimme" birdies. In order to score well, you need distance, touch, and good course management. Make sure to bring extra water or snacks, the hills and distance make it a real workout to play. The course is beautiful. It sits on a huge property with rolling hills, woods, creeks and a pond. You can tell that a ton of work and love has already been poured into the course, and it is only getting better. I can't wait to go back and get another shot at it. This course is already one of the best in the state.
