Pros:

A longish technical wooded course with 2 sets of tees (except hole # 4??, didn't matter my drive was in the valet parking zone for an easy birdie, lol).

Very well made wooden bridge (with steel beams) going over a small ravine.

Well designed!!

ELevation. Man, I love these kind of courses that offer Elevation and distance that allows the player to show off their skills throwing their disc through a dense forest.

This area of Ohio has yet to be commercialized. so be prepared for a BEAUTIFUL setting (I can't wait to come back and play from the long tees and explore more of the park and area!!)

Cons:

Without tee/ next signs one WILL have some difficulty to navigate the course (I had a very generic map and only had a few spots of where I had difficulty finding the next tee. I had minor issues @ finding hole # 2 and # 8 according to the map)

Needs some TLC (aka... mowing)

not enough parking or restrooms.

no benches

as of right now, one had to step up on the tees to play the hole, but I'm figuring that in the future the park dept. will fill the sides of the cement tee pads with fill dirt to make it looks more professional and easier to have a long delivery for their tee shot.

This area of Ohio has yet to be commercialized. So bring what you need and then some.

Ohio State parks don't have trash cans. So one has to deal with the baloneyheads that litter. Come on people, we're all grown up. Pack out what you pack in (very simple to most). People who litter are trash !!

Other Thoughts:

But because I met my fellow travelin' DGer, Sir Boston (from the Steubenville area) near hole # 1. I had a course map. Sir said he had some difficulty finding certain holes. I did too, even with a very generic map. But I blew through the course in 45 minutes from the short tees. and left happy as a lark because of the potential once this fairly newer course gets beat in. Playing from the short tees and only using 2 pink 150 class sidewinders and a 173 gram Stratus discs I shot under par from the short tees. In fact I got on the birdie train from holes # 4-8.

The roads my GPS took me from West Virginia to Burr Oak state Park were the windiest I've ever driven throughout Ohio and I've played over 223 different disc golf courses in Ohio. If your getting to this course via a motorcycle one has to ride highway 555 and highway 78. It was a rollie coaster ride with the thrill that Cedar Point could never offer!!

Many holes I enjoyed. I wonder what most feel what we're this parks signature holes. I felt hole # 3 was one of them. BIG cranker with a "S" type of fairway with basket hiden over a small knoll.
