Angling across the open field below the house, and through an isthmus with its grove of trees, hole 17 plays nice and flat, but takes a pretty piece of luck to get the tee shot in close enough for a true putt. There's sometimes marshy water in the bowl on the right, but you really want to avoid going long into the creek left.
