- There are disc golf baskets at this location.

- Yep. That sums up the pros. Honestly.

- No signs.

- No tees.

- No map.

- No way to figure out what the course is unless you know someone that's played the course.

I pulled up to this school and saw baskets. Figured I'd film a quick round in 20 minutes then head out to Dorton Park.

I saw baskets, but aside from that there's no evidence a disc golf course exists here.

I've played plenty of school courses. Some have tee signs. Some have those round Innova tee markers. Some just have a worn patch of grass 100-250' from the pin.

This course has none of that. There's literally baskets, and that's it.

I love the concept of having an introductory course at Elementary Schools. They are a great place for our youth to be introduced to the game, as well as something new for them to do during their recess periods.

If you want to get a cubby ace, work on your long putts, or your approach shots, this course could help you accomplish any of that. The course utilizes nice Innova baskets.

The course is missing baskets 6 & 7, and baskets for holes 8 & 9 are locked behind a fence the school has put up, and it is just not worth breaking the law to hop that fence. None of the holes are memorable, and the only hole that currently has a distinguishable tee location is hole 2. I looked for the areas mentioned in an earlier review, and could not located them. Too many of the baskets play too close to the school, and made me feel uncomfortable, even on a summer weekend.

As much as I hate to say it, but I am going to rate this course as a 0.0 - I feel like the school should consider pulling most of the baskets. Introductory courses like these, should be mainly visible all from the same area, and this course wraps around the school in the most awkward loop a course could possibly take, and gets too close to the building to not be distracting to people who see or hear errant shots. The lack of tees and already baskets pulled/locked away makes it feel like they don't put much value into the course, sadly.

Holes 2 & 3 are really all this school needs. Allow the kids somewhere to play around with the sport and get a feel for it, but everything else, at this point, just feels like baskets randomly thrown around the school grounds.

I usually mention favorite holes, but since Hole 2 was the only one with a designated tee location, that would be a bit pointless.

I was able to find 4 nice DISCatchers here.

Holes 2 and 3 are in a wide open ~100 ft fenced area which would be great putting practice. Hole 2 actually had 2 red Innova tee marker discs in the ground.

You have to appreciate the effort to try and get disc golf built into the culture and curriculum of an elementary school.

Basket 1 actually has a pretty nice location on a hill in front of the school.

After wandering around here, I was only able to come across baskets 1-4. I guess some of them are tucked behind the school but I had no idea, and with no navigational aids, had no way to know where to go. This was made worse by the fact that some of the baskets/holes are nonexistant.

Who knows what the layout for this course actually is. Hole 2 had tee markers, but that was the only set I could find. I had no idea whatsoever where to throw from for holes 1 and 4. The lack of most teepads makes trying to navigate this set of baskets a nightmare.

I can't help but wonder that if some of the baskets are already not there anymore, how long will the rest of the course be in existence.

Basket 4 is very close to the school's front walkway which could be a dangerous situation with little kids running around (it is an elementary school after all).

I think it is really cool to introduce young kids to disc golf. Looking at it, holes 2-3 in the enclosed fence area would be perfect for trying to teach young children but keep them in a controlled area. But calling this a "course" is a bit of a stretch. It is a more like a collection of baskets in a general area. The baskets seem to have been plopped down with very good intentions of teaching the local children to play and possibly giving a short, beginners course for the area. Unfortunately the result here is far from the intended goals. I wonder if this confusing set of baskets might actually drive potential newcomers away from the sport.

It also felt a bit weird being on an elementary school grounds, even through it was well after school hours.

I didn't want to do it, but this course left me no choice. Carl Furr got the first zero rating I've given. NOTE: I've since updated my rating and again don't have any zero-rated courses.
- The overwhelming majority of baskets are here. Seven of nine were here when I played.
- You have two holes (#2 & 3) that are good for putting, long putts or really short game practice. The other holes are not conducive for much practice.
- Holes #2 & 3 also have easily identifiable tee area, marked by the dual red discs in the ground. Both holes are 125 feet or so, so I guess you could go crazy trying to rack up cubby aces.
- There's some elevation, so you could get a little creative making up your own layouts, if you choose to take advantage of the baskets for #1 & 4.
- Baskets are clearly aimed at school children. That's the positive, in theory. The execution of this layout may not fully meet its intended goal, however.

I'm not going on an epic rant trying to list many reasons to justify giving this course a zero. The basic point is that this course is intended to be a kid-friendly, pitch-n-putt level course, and it somehow completely misses clearing that low bar.
- The layout and flow of this course is embarrassing. From the road, to the front of the school, and behind, here is the numerical order of the baskets you come across: 3, 2, 1, 4, 5, 9 & 8 (with 6 and 7) missing.
- Now, to break down that confusing layout. I got to the parking lot, and found the first basket. After making a loop in a large radius, I could not find markers for the first basket. I did find a small patch of gravel about 75 feet from the basket. Is that the tee? From there, I walked back up towards the road, and play 2 & 3, then headed back towards the school building, to play #4, and had the same success of find tee markers. Once again, I found a small gravel patch maybe 80 feet from the basket. No luck finding tee markers for #5, then I walked around the right side of the building. The next two holes I found, logically, were #9 then #8.
- The problem for #9 is that is next to the building itself, not too far from a big window. Unless the school wants to pull the remaining baskets, having a basket that close to the building and a window is begging for a problem. Then you get to #8, which is next to the parking lot. I couldn't find tee markers for either of those, unless the spray painted dots in the parking lot are one. I was able to find a sleeve where one of the missing baskets had existed in a former life, so that's a positive. I did walk the entire way around the building and most of the property and couldn't find the other two baskets.
- Basically, the flow is bad. Unless the baskets are just being used as targets for kids, without a sense of playing a round, the holes are out of order and present other safety concerns. Plus there is too much walking to play such short holes. If they do want kids to learn the game, this is NOT the way to do it.
- Because of the layouts of the basket, and there proximity to the school building, sidewalks, parking lot, etc. it's difficult to even use these holes for practice. You can work on your putting, or use #2 & 3 as mentioned above, but that's about it.
- None of the layouts are fun or challenging, at least based on what I thought were tee markers. If they were to make these holes longer, you would only increase the risk of danger.

For years, one course had always been the worst in my book. I fought the temptation to give that one a zero. My worst course isn't in the pits. It's only a quarter mile from the Pitts (School Road that is.)
- I'm just disappointed this course is such an epic failure to appeal to school children. If this had been my first exposure to disc golf, I would have never picked up a disc again past elementary school. It's the same reason people don't climb gym ropes when they get older.
- Even if this course had one or two decent holes or more of a grassy area, I'd say this could be a decent practice course. As it is, even if I lived within walking distance, I wouldn't waste my time here.
- Oh, and if you get too creative, or aggressive, there's a big drop-off over a fence to the left/behind #1, depending what direction you're standing. Because losing discs will make this course more enticing to children.
- Play at your own risk. The only reason I can see someone playing here is if you're padding your course counter stats. For the rest of us, don't subject yourself to this. For those of you living in Cabarrus County, at least you can take solace in the fact your taxes helped contribute to this.
