Pros:

Aesthetic-- plays through EXTREMELY thick woods in a large rural park. Very little chance of running into non-DGers. More likely to run into a deer or bear out here.

Teepads-- Ceement. nicely hewn and grippy.

Routing and nav- Fairly easy. Most of the next pads are visible from the previous pin or have a next tee sign.

Challenge/Variety-- the challenge in this course lies in the extreme physicality and tough tight fairways. This is an extremely physical course. Most holes contain at least some elevation change and because of this hiking boots are very appropriate. I might add that a second person is very very recommended both for safety and spotting. I will say this course heavily favors either a lefty or a forehand thrower as a lot of the fairways bend right.

Cons:

Baskets-- home made baskets with single chains. added visibility would be helpful as these woods are extremely thick.

Rough/upkeep-- I understand this is a relatively small "club" of loyalists here but the ferns and other thick shule here is overwhelming. I know I can't really bitch as I haven't help clear fairways but then again, none of them were clear. there is about a two foot wide path on some of the fairways that looks about a month old that might help you guide through.

Teesigns-- a work in progress I know but what is there now for the first four holes or so is sufficient. however, there are still a lot of missing signs.

You are committed-- once you are in this course, you are 100% committed. Exit isn't easy by any means. There is a road visible from #8's pin but other than that, god speed out there folks.

Other Thoughts:

This course needs a lot of work. I have been following this course for over a year of development and it's come a long way. The pictures on the facebook page paint a nice picture of what's out here but then you get there and it's a rough rough course. Grow the club, grow the sport, grow the course...
