Pros:

Cedarcrest Park DGC is a pretty typical city niner. This course is accessible to both newer players and more experienced folks alike due to the shorter distances. Most players with solid distance off the tee will need little more than a putter or mid on most holes.

There are concrete tees on eight of the holes with holes 2 and 8 sharing a tee. These are on the shorter side but are more than enough for the lengths out here. All were nice and level and work much btter than grass or dirt.

The baskets are MVP Black Hole Pros. These are nice baskets and caught well themselves. One basket and pin placement per hole.

Pretty solid flow to the course. Easy to follow your way around and starts and ends near the same area. I highly doubt that it'll be real busy here either. Very quick place to play a round or two.

There's a few wooded holes and a few open holes. It's split fairly evenly this way actually, which is nice. The course is mostly flat. There's some very slight elevation change in the wooded section I guess, but pretty negligable.

Cons:

These baskets are in pretty rough shape. The paint is faded pretty badly, which isn't necessarily a bad thing since they're black originally. The main issue is how most of the aren't mounted very level and 5 or 6 of them have rebar rods stuck into the ground by the pole to stabilize them. This makes putting tricky, isn't actually straightening them out and it looks awful.

No tee signs of any kind. Not a huge deal with the shorter distances. But my wife did end up throwing at 9's basket, which is nearby 2's, and is in a much more visible location. I had to walk up the fairway a few other times to spot the basket before throwing too.

Hole 1 is pretty awful. You tee off throwing right at/over the baseball fence. I can only hope that they put the ball diamond in AFTER the course was already here. Either way it's a pretty terrible way to start the round here, and just a terrible hole in general.

Holes 3 and 4 play in a creekbed. Literally IN a creekbed. These are probably unplayable most of the spring and certainly after any substantial rainfall.

Other Thoughts:

This one is a quick enough play if you find yourself nearby. Personally I'll never be back, just nothing for replay value unless you live nearby. And even then I'd probably never play here. One of the weaker courses I've played in the area.

Fantastic Use of a Small Space drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 15, 2022 Played the course:once

Pros:

- Big parking lot. I played during a weekday in the afternoon and was able to park right by the map at the beginning of the course.
- There was a map at the beginning that made navigating the course a breeze. There was also information on distance and par.
- The course has MVP Black Hole Pro baskets. They were extremely nice and caught my discs well.
- The course design was really fun. It's a short nine holes, but they made a fantastic use of the small space. It flowed really well and a lot of the holes were fun to play.
- The signage was good. There were clear indicators with which path to take towards the teepad area.
- There was a basketball court, splash pad, baseball field and playground. These features might make the park appealing for a family.

Cons:

- There are no teepads. It looks like they will be putting some in as there is currently a dirt hole with caution tape surrounding it.
- The course is only nine holes.
- There is a baseball field that is in the field of play for hole one between the tee and basket. This could present problems if the field is being utilized.
- The course is in a tight space so if more groups are present, it may become clustered.
- Overall, the course didn't present much of a challenge. I never had to use my fairway driver during my round. A mid-range and putter were sufficient.
- There were no benches to rest on between the holes or at the start of the course.

Other Thoughts:

Overall, I enjoyed the course and it's located near the Mall of America. The course is only nine holes, but the space was utilized extremely well. The playground, basketball court and splash pad can offer fun for the entire family. While this course isn't going to present much of a challenge, it is enjoyable and features awesome MVP baskets.

Tasty Little Course! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Aug 13, 2021 Played the course:once

Pros:

Ok...I'll be the first to review this really cool 9-hole in the Metro West. Not sure who built it or exactly when it was created, but I really enjoyed my first time on this pitch and putt.

* Conveniently located and easy to get to off of 494
* Great amenities for the family including a splash pad, playground and b-ball courts
* no crowd mid-day...bet it gets more play in the evening and weekends
* Short course that is great for introducing the sport. Super family friendly! Shortest hole is 110. If you've got your game on already, come Ace race this entire course.
* Fun use of limited land
* First time playing a Black Hole Portal basket. It caught well. Love seeing new targets!

Cons:

* This is a simple, recreational caliber course and I think big armed throwers would be frustrated.
* Potential for mixed use issues...especially on Hole 1 which crosses over a baseball diamond. No way you could play Hole 1 or 2 if a ball game was happening.
* No chances for course expansion that I can see.
* Pretty intuitive, simple to navigate course...but there are no signs and just dirt pads at this point.

Other Thoughts:

If this course was in my neighborhood I would be SO STOKED!! Great practice opportunities for honing your shots. Plays pretty quick. I would take a newbie here for sure. It will help them build the confidence they need to take on other area courses.

My compliments to those who had the vision to build this cute little gem. Well done!
