small town 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:May 24, 2021 Played the course:once

Pros:

Nice Mach III baskets
Tee posts has the distance, although a few of them are off
Tee pads hold off against wet weather, but are too short and getting a little overgrown (see pics)

Cons:

Course is pretty tight, not just within it'self (X fairway between 9 and 1) but with any other park users.
Safety is an issue

Other Thoughts:

I love small town courses, you usually get the whole course to yourself and sometimes even the whole park.

Good thing that happened with me, this course has some major safety issues with fairways throwing over roads, next to restrooms over a basketball court and almost over picnic tables.

not to mention that when you are teeing off on hole 1, you will notice a basket just to your right. Well the tee for that #9 basket is off to the left. Yep, crosing fairways.

After playing hole one, your walk to the tee for hole 2 is almost longer than the holes. Not sure why either.

hole 2 throws over the edge of the baseball outfield fence.

Hole 3 uses the bathrooms to make you turn your drive over to a small group of large trees OVER the road. Yep, someone could be walking and you would not even see them.

then another longer walk over to hole 4. You have a decent long right handed hyzer (over the road) or an inside S curve to the basket. An electric fenced in area with some horses come into play if you throw that inside route.

Then hole 5, large tree in front of you and you are throwing over a road (again) This is not that great of a hole, there is no "good" line to shoot for.

Then the real danger danger area for the next couple of holes. Hole 6 throws over the basketball court, it's not the closer basket you are thinking, you throw past that down to the tennis courts. Yep, over more roads too.

Hole 7 throws between two picnic tables, hope no one is using them when you play this course. On top of that, you have trees keeping you from throwing high.

Hole 8 is just not a good hole, there is a "big hyzer" but the basket is too far to the left to make this a reasonable birdie hole. The inside path is pretty tight and has several picnic tables in the left of the fairway.

Then over the field to tee #9 that throws all the way across #1 fairway. Wide open 436ft hole.

I feel that several of the holes were lengthened after the course was designed because the distances on the tee signs don't match the GPS UDisc measurements. I understand why people want longer holes for more of a challenge, however you are putting others at risk when you do that, specially on a course like this one.

Would I play here again? Probably not, I rated it a 2 not just because of the layout, but took into consideration the safety issues. You got several great courses in OKC, no reason to play here other than bagging it.
