Other Thoughts:
A rolling hillside field with grass fairways cut through low weedy rough and just a few small trees here and there. New layout, and keeping in line with a short course designed for beginners, the "rough" is at ankle level.
MVP baskets, grass tees, signage includes length and par - no hole diagram is really needed. The baskets are mounted in holes that look big enough to be used for kick golf. Fairways are mowed, and they're even planting flowers at the base of some of the tee signs.
The first four holes are straight, incorporating a little bit of elevation change. Ace runs and birdie putts for most players who aren't brand new. Hole #5 is straight with some uphill, and at 355' it's the longest on the course (a par 4).
Holes #6 - #9 introduce doglegs: the mowed fairway shows the shape of the hole, but since there are no obstructions, you can really cut all the corners with no consequences other than landing in the ankle deep "rough."
Hole #9 shows how this course might be even more fun for experienced players than for beginners: It's a 90 degree left turn, and it plays along a bank above the back corner of a parking lot. But if you throw directly at the basket (it's a clear shot - you just have to clear the parking lot and a community garden at the base of the bank), you can turn a 322' hole into a 250' hole.
