Great practice course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 16, 2014 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Almost no hazards. No water and very few trees. You won't lose a disc. The grounds are well kept by the church. Great course for practicing straight-on drives and approaches. Because it's not a city park, there's no kids/families walking around to interfere. I practice here 3-4 times/week after work. Takes about an hour to play through twice, and I usually have the course to myself.

Cons:

Hole 5 is missing and has been for a while. I believe it was too close to Westgreen blvd. Hole 2 makes a good substitute target from Tee 5, although it is a bit shorter. Hole 9 tee is missing the sign; but a good place to tee off is the gravel pad just to the south of the transformer poles. If you're looking for an ultra challenging course, this isn't it.

Other Thoughts:

I play this course often as I live nearby. With the addition of the VA hospital to the south and a new sanctuary bldg for the church, the course has been redesigned slightly. The photos on this site are very old and outdated, as is the course map. The tee for hole 1 is near the VA parking lot on the SW side. The original hole 9 basket has been removed and is a new hole 7 that runs parallel to Westgreen blvd. Hole 8 is the old hole 7, and hole 9 is the old hole 8 that runs next to the storm water pit on the west side of the church.

Good Beginner Course, but Map needs correcting 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:May 14, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

Not many hazards, lots of wide open areas to practice driving, baskets have been moved to standard off-the-ground height baskets, nice walking trail with it, quiet area, parking ample on 3 sides of the course, good lighting in parking areas.

Cons:

Recent construction/expansion of church and more to come means some re-labeling of baskets needed. Several starts and baskets still bear old labels. Basket 5 is missing altogether. Therefore, all distances need to be updated with correct ones.

Other Thoughts:

Great for practicing range shots, with some baskets around 400 ft away. Not too many hazards. Shot 6 is across an entry road, so be mindful of cars. Shot 5, 6, 7 along Westgreen - so be mindful of cars there as well and don't let disc get pulled to the right in those areas.
