Precision short course with character 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 3, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

- Friendly owner
- Great place for locals to hang out
- One of the oldest courses in the state, with some history and character.
- Narrow fairways that you can use to improve your short game and accuracy.

Cons:

- Quite short. Pros can leave their driver at home.
- Baskets and tees are serviceable but not top knotch.
- Many right-curving fairways. Owner is left-handed and won't apologize for this; it's by design. But it might put off some people.

Other Thoughts:

If you live nearby, I would recommend highly. You can play a round quickly and then chat with some real friendly and down to earth locals. But I can't really recommend driving a long way to play it. Just falls short on variety, quality, and distance.

D 'n' D Disc Golf 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 26, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

Plenty of ace runs
Good balance of straight, right and left turning shots.
Open field by the pro-shop has a DG horse-shoe setup with seating and a firepit.

Cons:

"Lego Baskets" 15 holes had rubber coated inner chains and a very thin flimsy wire frame. Not all baskets were the same.

Holes 4,5, and 14 are essentially the same hole except 4 goes downhill, 5 is levelish and 14 goes uphill.

Several fairways were very rocky and wet.

Course is incredibly tight and most holes are short. Drivers are only useful on a few holes due to the very crowded fairways.

Other Thoughts:

I played this course on a Maine Players Tour open event and got 4 rounds in on the one day.

This is a precision course that will punish an errant throw. I would go for another large tournament but not for a casual round with friends (distance is a factor at 1hour 20).
