Pros:

if u are a beginner, and u dont require a run-up to throw then you may want to give this course a try. i did meet some very friendly people

Cons:

A lot of very short holes. Most tee pads are in terrible shape, and very short.

Other Thoughts:

I am not a fan of this course. Only challenge is not getting hurt on the tee pads. most tees are too short with big drops at the end of them.

Cons:

lefty friendly, 5 or 6 holes under 175 ft.

Other Thoughts:

great local course in town, becoming a great facility.

Fast, technical course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 1, 2014 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Short, technical course. You can get it done in 90 minutes with average speed. When I am short on time, this course is usually my go-to.

This is my favorite course for a putter-only round. Due to the technical shots and relatively short hole lengths, it's a good one to test my form and abilities with a putter round.

The owner, Alex, is a great guy. You can tell he genuinely loves disc golf and his course. You can feel it talking to him or playing the course. I'm really excited to see what he does when the second course is finished on this property.

Dogs are allowed here, unlike many of Maine's DG courses.

Cons:

Make sure you bring bug spray - extremely buggy to the point of ruining the experience w/o spray!

Other Thoughts:

This is neither a pro or a con, but the course is extremely elevated in several spots. Sometimes it's great when you want exercise, other times it's not, when you're tired after a long week.

Again, this is neither a Pro or a Con, but Alex, the owner, is left handed. You can tell when you play the course that it's got a "lefty-bias" as a lot of holes go to the right, unlike many courses! If you're a RHFH or a LHBH you may find a slight advantage on this course.

Overall, I really like this course. When I come here just depends on if I'm short on time, want to practice technical stuff, or if want some good exercise. I typically choose elsewhere if I'm tired or want to open up with some big drives. Check this place out!

Fantastic 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 26, 2014 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

This is by far my favorite course to play on whenever I want some challenge and technical lines. It has a variety of elevation changes that make an impact on your type of shot and how far it goes. I have never seen such a hilly course but it makes for great exercise and a fun experience. Most courses are typically flat ground so I enjoy playing here. There are some tough lines you have to hit but usually the baskets aren't to far to if you hit the line right you make for a good up. Like hole 7 I enjoy because it is straight uphill about 120-150 feet if I can remember. It is moderately wooded and could probably use a little more clearance but with time that will come. I enjoy the challenge of dodging the trees and hitting those perfect lines. Barrels for trash and bottles are at almost every hole as well as benches to sit on. The pro shop is usually open when I go in the afternoon and they are extremely friendly people to talk to. Some of the best people to own a disc golf course I would say. New course is in the making which should be a lot more open than the first course, but still with technical lines and some elevation to deal with. The amount of downhill and uphill shots with the placings of the baskets amount to a fun packed interesting round. If you have never been here I recommend coming to check it out. Great course for all levels of players from beginners to pro.

Well-designed wooded course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 5, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

This course is entirely in the woods. However, the fairways are clear and well-maintained. (The ground is covered with chipped wood to help keep vegetation and mud at bay.) While there are certainly trees to contend with, you don't really end up in dense woods unless you stray off the fairway. Thankfully most of the holes are quite short (< 200ft). I prefer this kind of course in general, since I'm not a big distance thrower. Given the tree density off the fairway, I liked the shorter holes so that misthrows are not punished by lots of distance to cover as well.

There was a reasonable amount of variety of holes, given the uniformly wooded terrain. Some elevation changes created opportunities for a few steep uphills and a few steep downhill throws, as well as some more gradual slopes throughout the course. Several of the holes are elevated, on top of large boulders or man-made structures.

We went mid-morning after some rain. While things were wet, there was only one area (around hole #13) that was impassably muddy. Even this was well maintained, with paths of cut logs laid out generously to cover the mud.

Following the course was no problem even as a first-timer. The tee signs were a little vague, but finding the baskets and the next tees was always straight-forward. The layout was also very good in terms of potential interference between holes. On the few occasions where collisions might have been possible, shields made of cut saplings were erected to protect tees from golfers on the previous holes.

The overall sense was that this is a well-maintained property. There are trash cans and brooms (presumably for snow) at each hole. Most holes also had benches or stumps for sitting on.

Cons:

Given the woods, there are limits to the amount of variety possible. There are practically no open holes, no open water, and nothing of huge distance.

Here in early summer, the ground vegetation was not much to deal with, but knowing how the Maine woods gets as summer progresses, I wonder about losing discs in the ferns and other ground cover if you stray from the fairway.

Bring bug spray and shoes that are okay with mud!

The pro shop was not open, even though we were there between 10am and noon on a weekday.

I dislike Maine's culture of pay-to-play being the only option for disc golf, but at least the owner is clearly putting money and effort back into the course.

Other Thoughts:

This course is a welcome addition to the central Maine disc golf scene. We weren't moving fast and finished in under 90 minutes, so it's a good place to stop in when you want a quick, fun 18 holes.

2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Dec 24, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

This is a short course. I believe there was at least one hole labeled a Par 5, but there aren't many long epic holes on this course. A lot of holes are ace runs, even for beginner/rec players. This course has a great fun factor.

Great use of elevation. From slight to steep. Lots of nice turns. Some rights, some lefts, some s-turns. The steepest downhill shot (I believe it's less than 200') is straight, but then hooks right past a few trees at the very end. Many of these types of steep downhill shots (at other courses) are just straight. Touches like this add creativity to the round.
They mix up the most aceable shots, and the 300'+ placement shots. Never gets boring or repetitive.
Pretty good amenities. Several trashcans. Rubber mat tee pads (which had been shoveled after a foot of snow). Very nice signs on each hole. Next-tee signs weren't needed because you can almost always see the next tee. There's a little pro shop on site (lots of Prodigy and wizards, plus a lost-and-found box and a scorecard with the distances listed). It looked like there was a big firepit right in the middle of the course (but it was snowed over so I'm not sure). Some bridges and the baskets were nice too (don't recognize these - the chains form diamond shapes, pretty cool and they caught well). I met the owner for five minutes, seemed like a cool guy, very friendly and welcoming. Several tree-walls built to protect a tee pad from another hole's errant shots.
Mostly all tight lines. Made you shape every shot. I really like that in a short course because it gives you lots of ace runs but also lots of challenges. The types of holes where you can score a 1-5.
Also - a nice big sign out on the road so it's easy to find. There's enough parking for a handful of cars.

Cons:

Still needs a lot of breaking in. I can't imagine worse conditions than what I played in (they had a foot of snow, then an ice storm. many trees were leaning over and clogging the fairways). However the tees were shoveled and it looks like the owner's putting a lot of work into this course. I bet it'll be a lot better in a year (but it's still a lot of fun now). I wouldn't mind next-tee signs (even if not needed) and benches would be nice - just nitpicky stuff here, none of this is crucial).

Other Thoughts:

This is a fun little course. Not necessarily a destination course, not much of a tournament course, but the tight lines would make for some great doubles rounds. When I played it was $5/round ($8 all day). Seems like pay-to-play is the standard up here in Maine. I'm definitely impressed that a lot of Maine courses are groomed in the winter - tee pads shoveled, etc. (though many of the pro shops tend to close for the winter).
You may be able to play this course in an hour or less if you hurry.
I don't think there was a convenient store right nearby so you might get drinks somewhere in town.
Again, I played in horrible weather conditions. This rating is based a lot of fun factor, and the work that has gone into the course. Deductions because many would find it too short and too tight, overall. It's hard rating a snowed-in course based on one round, though I think the summer upkeep could put this anywhere from the 2-4+ stars range.
