Pros:
-- Minor elevation and limited trees are well used. No. 1 is a good example. It's 230 feet with tree limbs that force you to throw low.
-- Water is available from faucets at the campground across the park road from the course. No restrooms on site.
-- Natural tee pads, but they are mostly well-defined and in decent shape, with one exception.
Cons:
-- No map.
-- No restrooms.
-- Tee signs are poor, and many are missing or lying on the ground.
-- Baskets are older DGA models, and many of them are leaning.
-- Course is too compact. My decent drive on No. 3 landed inside C1 for No. 1. Six and seven are also parallel and create a dangerous situation if the holes are being played at the same time. No. 7 basket is 40 feet from the 6 tee pad.
-- Six tee pad is torn up. All others are framed by timbers. The ones for six have been pulled out of the ground.
-- No. 8 tee is overgrown and almost unplayable. The sign is lying in knee-high grass, making the tee difficult to find.
-- No. 9 is a boring finishing hole: 248 feet slightly uphill and completely open.
-- Very little distance variation. Eight of 9 holes are 215-275. The other is 310.
Other Thoughts:
-- No. 1 tee is between the road and the pavilion. Navigation is fairly easy except 7-8. The overgrown tee pad is completely obscured until you are nearly on top of it. Baskets are numbered, which helps.
-- No. 5 tee sign shows a RHFH line that no longer exists.
-- This course is the definition of passable. If I lived nearby, I'd probably play a lot of rounds here. But I wouldn't hesitate to drive 45 minutes to play a better course.
