I loved this course 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 21, 2019 Played the course:once

Pros:

For a 9 hole course close to the highway this is a great stop.
Great signs
Easy Flow
Great tee pads and baskets.
Very clean well maintained park. Mature trees and shade on every hole. Great course for beginners. To learn the game.

Cons:

The holes are a little short. But that is it.

Other Thoughts:

If you are driving by this town it is 100% worth the stop. The play is fast. Small town so no crowd. And some ACE chances.

Elm Creek 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 20, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

-Well maintained
-Good signage
-Ample tee pads that provide for a proper run up
-Rounds will play quickly here. The flow is logical as well.
-There are trash cans and picnic benches.
-Very nice Kiosk with a course map and scorecards.
-Short to moderate length holes that will provide some ACE RUN potential.
-Nice beginners course or a good place to work on your short game.
Hole observations:
1-moderate length with the hyzer route open for the RHBH player
2-slightly elevated tee with a bit of a blind pin, hole is RHFH/LHBH friendly.
3-short hole with a guarded pin, has a roll-a-way threat behind the basket.
4-nice hedge row to navigate through upon approach.
5-mostly open RHFH/LHBH friendly hole.
6-low ceiling with a good group of trees to navigate around.
7-moderate length hole that is mostly open.
8-bit of a tunnel shot with the basket dog legging left.
9-open with basket up on a small mound.

Cons:

Hole 7 throws across the road so pay attention and don't hit someone with your disc.
No holes to really work on your distance shots.
No other amenities so pack accordingly.

Other Thoughts:

Nice beginners style course which has challenging lines but those lines shouldn't frustrate the beginning player. More advanced players can work on their short games here or they could play mid/putter only rounds to add an extra challenge.
Players should enjoy their low scores and this course has just enough lines to keep things interesting. Worth the stop if you are in the area especially if you enjoy Running the Chains trying to get an ACE.

Biased review from a local 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 23, 2015 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Excellent tees and baskets. Signage is well done and easy to understand. The locals have all been super friendly and I look forward to meeting some of the other DG nuts in town.

I can see parks like this doing a lot for the sport. Not every course has to be a pro comp course in order to benefit the sport and the community.

Cons:

Most of the holes are a little short for a strong armed amateur. This would be a con for a competition but it's a plus for a park designed to get the community outside.

Poison Ivy / oak. I'm not sure which but there is plenty to get into if you have a really bad throw. It's all avoidable with some caution. I'm hoping it gets sprayed this summer.

Other Thoughts:

While this isn't the most technical or long course I'm still excited to see our community leaders doing what they can to improve the number of outdoor opportunities in our community. If I understand correctly there is some talk of turning this into an 18 whole course if a bridge is build across the creek.
