Water Empire 2+ years

Pros:

This is a new course, complete with new infrastructure. The concrete tees are all level & of good length, and the 24-chain Monkey Trap baskets are also in mint condition. The tee signs at each hole list par, distance, hole number, suggested flight path, & OB. There is a practice basket next to the parking lot.

Despite being mainly wide open, there is a decent variety of holes (ranging in distance from 180 ft to 580 ft). There are a couple ace runs, hallway fairways, and risk/reward shots with the water. You can let it rip on hole 15 on a downhill shot.

Water is in play on about half the holes, but there is usually a bail out option or an alternate tee away from the water (hole 4).

Cons:

The most obvious con is the severe disc loss potential to the water. The water is fairly shallow and clear, so retrieval is possible, though. There is also a fairly long walk from hole 9 to hole 10 (the parking lot separates the front and back nines). The tee signs are kind of small & hard to see from a distance. Hole 11's tee pad had goose poop on it. The holes without water are mostly wide open, boring, and seem like filler holes. Most of them are board flat as well. A walking trail is fairly close to some holes.

Other Thoughts:

This is the first true 18 hole course in the Branson area that is free to play. It's not as good as the pay to play courses (Branson Trails and Treehouz), but it's still a solid 18 hole course. I would probably rate this 3.75 if could, but I can't, and it's probably closer to a 3.5 than a 4.
Restrooms and a playground are on sight as well. There are a few cool-looking chainsaw carvings of animals.
The basket for hole 6 is elevated on a stump. I understand the reasoning behind this one as the hole is under 200 ft and open plus it looks cool on the stump. Hole 15 also an elevated basket; this one makes less sense to me as it doesn't have a stump for aesthetics plus the hole is already 400+ ft.
