Pros:
In North Central Texas but reminds me a lot of Eastern courses, with heavy trees and tight lines on many of the holes.
Course is balanced for right-handed and left-handed players.
Course has been improved a lot. It was unplayable in 2019 due to lack of signs, thorns and other growth, but now is a relatively clean course to play.
Throwing harder is sometimes punished as you can overthrow and miss the lines, which makes for an interesting dynamic.
There is a creek in the course but It doesn't dominate play, and it is easier than Waxahachie, Cedar Valley, or Duncanville Crossroads to retrieve a disc from it under normal conditions.
Finding the course is easy once you know it shares a road with the Ennis airport. From the North, take 287 business from 287 and make a Uturn before getting into the downtown area, and you will see an airport sign.
Cons:
No water or restrooms, as far as I know (don't know if the airport a mile down the road is open to the public). Not much of a minus as it seems to be the norm.
The course has a lot of mud on it due to brush clearing and other work, though all beneficial in the long term.
On a windy day, hole 18 gains several levels of difficulty, becoming a monster struggle to reach the basket.
The course is relatively short for an 18 hole course, though there are a few long holes.
Other Thoughts:
This is a good but not great course. I play Waxahachie much more due to distance, but this course makes a nice variety.
There is talk of adding length to some of the shorter holes and clearing additional brush, though volunteers are needed to help alongside the city efforts to improve the course.
